Uh, no. I wasn't insulting anyone. I was just stating the truth- people are booing Bonds. And I can understand why. Please tell me how you think I insulted you. :confused3

Ba-ry Bonds is a Lame-O. No comparison to Hank or Bambino or Lou or even Roger Maris!!!

The only people that are cheering Bonds are those in San Fran- from what I've seen everybody else boos him for the lying, cheater that he his. He is reprehensible, and I don't care what "record" he breaks- he freakin' CHEATED to do it. I can't believe for ONE MINUTE that he has supporters and fans- He IS what is wrong with pro baseball. Even IF he breaks Aarons record- I will always know that there is an asterisk by his name. He NEVER broke the record as far as I'm concerned!!! He should not even be mentioned in the same breath as Babe Ruth or Hank Aaron- those guys were class- he is nothing but trash!!!

It's a shame and he's a disgrace. He and others who cheat and use drugs should be booted out of the game and they sure should not hold any records!

I'm guessing Honu is a Giants fan. :rotfl2:

Here's something Barry needs: "*"

He sure deserves it. :teeth:

Bonds is a cheater and a disgrace to the game, and he will be remembered by many as that no matter how many records he breaks.

Well, I was at the game. It was thrilling, even though I'm an A's fan. To answer the question posed earlier, he tied Babe Ruth's record of most HRs by a lefty.

I guess I have blinders on - when did he test postitive for steroids? I think I missed that part.

OJ Simpson.

#1. Steroids were not banned by baseball except for one year Bonds is accused of using steroids
#2. Bonds won three MVP awards prior to supposedly beginning to use steroids
#3. At the rate he was hitting home runs prior to supposedly using steroids, he would be well over 600 home runs in 2006.
#4. Bonds received votes for MVP in 15 consecutive seasons, he is accused of using steroids for 5 years of his 20 year career.
#5. Bonds became the first player to achieve 400 career home runs and 400 career stolen bases in 1998. He isn't accused to have began using steroids until 1998.
#6. In 1999, The Sporting News using only stats up to 1997 ranked Bonds as the greatest active player in baseball history.
#7. Many of the players of his era as well as pitchers of his era used steroids. He would be at a competitive disadvantage to not use them.
#8. Many former players such as Willie Mays, Bob Gibson, and Mike Schmidt have openly admitted that they would have used steroids if they were available to them.
#9. Babe Ruth had the advantage of not having to play against African American competition. Playing against watered down talent obviously benefited him in a way Bonds and Aaron were not able to.
#9. Owners and MLB officials were very aware of the fact that steroid use was rampant and all but sanctioned the use of steroids in order to attract fans.
#10. Mark McGwire openly used andro, a substance that was not banned. Just like anabolic steroids. That product was banned at the same time as steroids.
#11. During the era Hank Aaron played, baseball was riddled with use of performance enhancing amphetamines. No one seems to care about this or event point it out.
#12. The 1919 White Sox actively threw the World Series and lost on purpose. Baseball has not even placed as asterik on this World Series.
#13. Bonds has passed every single steroid test administered in the past two years.
While it is extremely likely that he has used them, it has never been proven that he knowingly took them. I understand that this is naive, but in America you are innocent until proven guilty.

This issue is entirely overblown. Had the same circumstances surrounded McGwire or Sosa as they passed Ruth or Aaron there would not be the same outrage. The outrage comes from the hate-hate relationship between Bonds and the media. The media will continue to portray Bonds in an entirely negative light because he has always acted as a jerk toward them.

Bonds, McGuire and Sosa shouldn't even be mentioned in the same breath as Babe Ruth and Hank Aaron.

I don't care if steroids were legal or not - it's still cheating. I don't care how many homers Bonds eventually hits, he's a FRAUD!!! :stir:

OK, so why did you feel you needed to create an alternative name to put this up? :confused3

And Baroid Bonds has the advantage of playing against watered down pitching. I do not know how many teams there were in his day, but certainly far less than today. Pitcher ERAS were about 1.5 runs less than they are today for starting pitchers.

With all the expansion comes about 200 more pitchers playing in the MLB than in those days, and most of them could not have been in the MLB back then.

Oh, and Baroid also has almost 900 more career AB's than Babe Ruth did.

It sickens me that Baroid gets mentioned in the same breath or sentence as Bonds and Aaron.

To say that is ignorant. The pool of players that the MLB draws from is FAR larger today than in Ruth's era. This completely diminishes the effect of expansion. You can now draw players from Japan, Korea, Mexico, Dominican Republican, Venezuela, and African Americans. When you add so many more possible players as well as population increases, then you could have double the expansion that has occured and it still wouldn't mean watered down talent.

Baroid Bonds is a FRAUD!

Ditto ditto ditto ditto ditto!

What makes me sickest is that people are still treating this as though it were legitimately a Big Deal, as in ESPN Radio broke into whatever they'd been talking about (I'd just gotten into my car, so I don't know what was interrupted) to announce the alleged "news" this afternoon. I didn't even bother to watch SportsCenter tonight even though I would've liked to see Sabres-Canes highlights because I felt like keeping my dinner down this evening.

The whole thing is bizarre and more than a little ridiculous, at least IMO.

He's a great player. He was great before he used steroids. He did steroids, so did a huge number of MLB batters and pitchers. Owners and Selig knew about it and did nothing. It wasn't against the rules for most of the time he used them. Big deal.

So, you are a fan of the fraud. You are allowed to be. But why not post under your real name? Seems rather.....well you know what I am thinking!

Also, Like I pointed out with FACTS, The Babe did it when NOBODY else was, and NOBODY was on roids. Babe Ruth at least was REAL...... Baroid is a chemically enhanced version of a human. Babe did it with cigars, liquor, and cheap women! :thumbsup2

I wouldn't be so shocked if your boy Pujols weren't using some type of performance enhancing drug at this point.
