Barony Beach exchange for BWV

My DW's friend has Barony Beach in HHead Island as her home base. She wants to go to WDW next year, and wants to use our BWV points for a 2BR for a week.
She will in turn, give us a 2BR in HHI for a week.

Do you think this is a fair trade or not??

If you're swaping in the summer months I do. We toured Barony, and thought it was great. Very nice pool and grounds.

Potentiall yes but it boils down to specifics. Do you need a 2 BR, when is their week, what view type is it, when do they want to go to WDW? If they have a summer week, ocean front, you need a 2 BR and they don't want premier time; it's a fair deal even if more points than you'd pay through II for an exchange. For less favorable situations, it just depends. It would still be a good deal for the right number of points, you just need to figure out how many. For example, if it was a gold season garden view I'd say it'd be worth about 160-200 points. I can give you an idea of how many points each combo is worth and I'll assume having a 2 BR is worth you paying for in your situation. But you'll have to decide how the other party will react if you offer them what will in effect be less than a full 7 days in a 2 BR unit as well as how many points it's worth TO YOU.

Thanks for your insight. We have not talked to the HH party yet, but I believe it would be for a 2BR at BWV for summer (June-July) in 07. I do not know what view she has, but it would be the "platinum" season or prime summer at HHI..

That trade would cost you 270 points through II plus the $75 fee. It would cost them $135 I believe for an exchange in to DVC for that time both directions are hard exchanges to get for non members. This method would cost you 306 or 350 points depending on standard view or not. IMO, it comes down to how much YOU want the exchange and to their view type. For Ocean Front, I'd say it's fair for the 306, for ocean side, maybe maybe not and for garden view definitely not IMO. Do realize if you exchanged in during that time you'd almost certainly get garden view. Let us know what happens and how it works if you end up proceeding.
