Bargain Betty and Workaholic Starring In:What Are You, A Disney Expert?

When I left off we had just passed Snow & company and we were on our way toward Toon Town....

We were welcomed to TT with cool lighting effects that cast special Halloween images..

Our destination in TT was the Mad Hatter's Halloween trail. At the start of the trail CMs were passing out candy and you could get in line to meet the Mad Hatter. When we were down to just one group in front of us Alice walked up and joined the MH. They were really cute together joking and dancing...

I was looking forward to the photo op with both but Mad left just as it was our turn. I was kind of bummed but when I was chatting with Alice and she heard we'd been married 21 years she asked if I was a child bride. After that I was like, "Who's the Mad Hatter?" :rotfl:

After meeting Alice we headed down the trail that had themed decorations and of course candy.

When we got to the end of the trail we were in Tomorrowland and we stopped by the extremely crowded dance party there. Pluto and Goofy were having a great time dancing with all the kiddos..

I love the lighting effects in this pic! There are just so many colors to see!

vacation2009399.jpg

After trick or treating through Tomorrowland we were on our way toward the hub when we noticed everyone lining up for the first parade.

vacation2009400.jpg

I had planned to catch the second parade but I thought if we could find a spot we might as well see the first.

vacation2009401.jpg

vacation2009402.jpg

We ended up finding a great spot right on the curb but we missed the Headless Horseman. (If I had remembered my "plan" this would not have happened!) Even though we missed the HH we still thought the parade was incredible! Now start thinking of music from the Haunted Mansion...grim grinning ghosts will do just fine....and now that the right music is playing in your head take a look at some of the MANY parade pics Dale took....

What's Halloween without candy?

It really was a great parade and we were so glad we saw it! We have been to all the hard ticketed parties (Grad Nite, Pirate/Princess, MVMCP & MNSSHP) and IMO the parades and fireworks alone can make it worth the cost of admission. The rest is just extra icing on the cake! :thumbsup2

After the parade we made our way toward the castle to see the Villains show. (Dale took a lot of pics of the castle at night)

vacation2009458.jpg

The show was really good too and Dale was so busy enjoying it that he didn't take any pics of it :lmao: After the show the villains go down in front of the stage for pics but it was so crowded that night we couldn't get close to them. Dale got some pics off to the side though..

I was kind of surprised that so many children wanted to meet these villains. I think they are pretty scary looking!

The fireworks were after the Villains show so we just kept the spot we were in. Unfortunately, it proved to be a mistake. We couldn't see much except smoke. (We sat in the same place for the Christmas Wishes and it was an amazing spot. We felt like fireworks were going off all around us and it was incredibly beautiful) Maybe if I had remembered my plan we would have known where to sit? Anyway, next year I will try watching them from further back!

After the fireworks we went back into Fantasyland and happened upon the Queen of Hearts and the Tweedles. They were a lot of fun and one of the Tweedles stole Dale's ears and gave them to the Queen. He ended up forgetting them and later went back and she still had them on

vacation2009468.jpg

We trick or treated some more and then walked onto Snow White's ride. But this time no one cut in front of us :thumbsup2

After our little mine ride we decided we were getting tired and we agreed it was time to head back to Pop. Of course Dale had to take a few more pics on the way out...

vacation2009474.jpg

When we got to the bus stop there was only one other family there and the bus arrived in no time. When we got back to Pop I filled my mug and Dale grabbed a beer and we headed to our room. When we got there we did the requisite trick or treater thing of dumping our candy to see what we got..

(Think we did ok?)

We enjoyed our beverages and called it a night. It had been another memorable day in WDW!

tut tut dad is so forgertful sometimes

At least he only forgot the ears once. I couldn't count how many times he forgot his sunglasses somewhere :rotfl:

Thanks and I can't wait til next year either!

I love the pic with the Queen wearing Dale's ears! :rotfl:

You may have just convinced me to book the MVMCP...:rolleyes1

We loved MVMCP last year! The snow on Main Street and sights and smells of the parade (yes! the floats are scented!) the castle in icicle lights and the fireworks!!! It is a must do in my book!

Great update. The parade looks fantastic, and Dale got some nice shots too.

Alice and the Mad Hatter are so fun when they're playing off each other. Wish they had them out together more. Sounds like you had fun with Alice though.

What a great report!! Just spent my morning having my coffee and getting all caught up on your TR. Princess Caitlin posts on my TR all the time, so when I saw you had one going....well, I just had to check it out. You have raised a wonderful young lady, you must be so proud of her.

I had heart failure when I read the words "car accident", my heart was in my throat....I left my DD who is 17 this past weekend for the first time. My best friend and I travel to the states every spring and fall for a shopping trip, but Jasmine has always come with us. I agree with you on the texting, thank goodness for that. I loved that I was able to be in contact with her whenever I felt the need.:lmao:

Love the pictures, you have an amazing camera. I cannot wait to read morepopcorn:: Oh, btw, I really see the resemblance in that picture where you're giggling too!!!:thumbsup2

Oh my, I posted and in my haste I forgot to wish PrincessCaitlin a very happy birthday....I hope it was the best ever!!!!:wizard:

Thanks it was!
I think I am the only 19 year old who spent the night of their birthday watching the new Tinkerbell movie which was one of my favorite presents:lmao:

Thanks Meeko! We had a really good time with all the Wonderland characters which is ironic since that movie actually ranks among my least favorite Disney films :ssst:

Hi Queen :flower3: I'm so glad to have Caitlin's dis-buddy join us! Thank you we are very proud of Caitlin. She is a fine young lady but I still can't believe she is 19! Time goes too fast!

It is scary leaving our daughters home isn't it?! But texting does seem to lessen the distance!

Thank you on the pic compliment. We really love the new camera and Dale is doing great on learning to use it!

I have actually been lurking on your TR just hadn't posted since that is the only one Cait posts on :goodvibes I'm really enjoying it and you and Jasmine sure look alike too! I'm envious you already have another trip coming up very soon and we have to wait til September

Looks like you got a great spot for the parade!
And Great Pics (mine came out pretty bad).
But I'm surprised you passed by Mickey and Minnie in their costumes while you were over in Toontown - that was a must for us!

I totally forgot to mention Minnie and Mickey. We really wanted to see them but the line was horribly long! It was an endless sea of strollers backed up waiting so we skipped them and went straight to the Mad Hatter's trail.

Hey Dawn
I am all caught up on your trip report. I have enjoyed reading all of it. I hope one day my husband can go with me just the two of us. I will be going to Earmark convention next week and I can't wait. By the way welcome aboard the team and if you need any help let me know. Glad to have you but sad I won't be booking your trips for you anymore. LOL

Evening, Dawn :) I'm having so much fun reading your report, the parades, etc sound awesome!

Caitlin..We red boxed Tink & The Lost Treasure over the weekend and prob watched it 4-5 times! Piper loved it. (I did too, but don't tell her..I like teasing her too much!)

I was spending a quiet Sunday drinking my coffee and scrolling through the TR thread,:surfweb: when your title caught my eye. Now a few cups and hours later I am caught up and really enjoying. :goodvibes

I love the scavenger hunt. The pics came out great, if I might ask, what type of camera do ya'll use? I am looking forward to more.

Hi Laure! A "parents only" trip is something you can look forward to doing when your kids are grown :) Have fun at Earmark!

The Tink movie was really cute! Dale, Caitlin and I saw the new Christmas Carol on Saturday and none of us liked it. What a disappointment!

I'm so glad you found us! Welcome :flower3:

The scavenger hunt was great fun and so was sending Caitlin random phone pics to guess where we were! It made us feel like we were sharing our trip with her :)

The camera is a NikonD80 and we love it!

I wasn't sure what to think of those previews for Christmas Carol but I was leaning against it.
We just did our annual viewing of Nightmare Before Christmas and now we're anxiously awaiting Princess & The Frog!
Especially now that we just met her and saw her show in the parks!

We went to the train tour when it stopped in our are and we were all really excited to see the movie but we left disappointed. A Christmas Carol is supposed to be an emotion filled story with scary ghosts and Scrooge's joyous redemption but we all found the movie lacking any emotion or heart. Caitlin and I both even fell asleep during parts of the movie and we never do that! In summing up the movie Caitlin said she'd "stick with the Muppets Christmas Carol" :lmao:

We too are very excited for the release of the Princess and the Frog and I can't wait to read about Tiana's show in your TR!

Dawn:

I can't believe its been 5 days since I've read your TR. Please accept my apologies for getting so far behind.

Now down to business......

Happy Belated 19th Birthday Caitlin!!!!!!I hope you had a great day!

I love every single one of your pictures. They are just fabulous. I love how you guys always pose with the characters. I can't seem to get Denny motivated for character poses, although he is getting a little bit better.

Did I already ask you what type of camera you have, because if I did, I need to know again and this time, I promise to remember.

Your meal at Tony's looks so yummy. I love the confetti! I must say, Denny and I did not get any confetti, although we had wonderful service everywhere. And I love how they decorated the desserts.

I did not know you could pose with Steamboat Willie in Exposition Hall. That is so cool. I must do that.

Sounds like you had a great night at the party. The parade pics are so clear and the gravediggers - perfect! You also got lots of loot. I never thought about dumping out my bag....next year!

Great Update - really enjoyed it!
