Barefoot at Breakfast?

I'm apparently in the minority, but this would offend me much less than some of the "fully dressed" outfits you see in the parks. ****s, bellies, more skin that we should really see...
it.

The funny thing I notice is that when I was in high school and college, it was cute to wear a belly baring top--but only if you were under 130 lbs. It seems different today....young women of all sizes are wearing short tops. It still surprises me. I'm not making a weighest comment--I think that society has an unfair bias against excess pounds and wish that type of discrimination would let up (how about bias against bad manners? much more civil ;) ) but it just surprises me because my friends wouldn't have been caught dead with short tops unless they had washboard tums.

a wee bit off topic but still in the same respect i seen a man in a grand floridain room hallways "running" in his ity bitty white underwear

Funny to see but VERY rude all at the same time!

Oh my gosh, what time did this happen? I would have thought I was dreaming :rotfl2: I wonder if his wife kicked him out ?

And yeah, I have seen a lot more people wearing jammie pants out in public. What are they thinking?
This is funny, because I just got back from Subways wearing my Mickey jammie pants! :mickeyjum They aren't sheer, and they aren't gross! And I look cute in them! :p (Sorry Skiwee!)

But seriously, not speaking for anyone else, and answering the "what are they thinking", I wore them because they're comfortable and cute, they cover my body, and I felt that they can be worn as casual day pants on a Saturday afternoon. I didn't wear them to bed last night, so I didn't feel like I was wearing jammies. They're just jersey-fabric pants with Mickey's all over them, sold as jammies, but just cute pants to me.

I hope I didn't offend anyone! :rotfl2:

It was a treat for you to see a little girl through her sheer clothing???
Um, no. read it again. I was talking about the MOMS. Call the FBI, tell them nevermind about raiding my house tonight. :car:

I would have to say that I am guilty of wearing my flannel jammie bottoms with a sweatshirt and baseball cap to take the kids to school. I don't have to get out of the car to do this. It's not that I am too lazy to change, it's just that I am comfortable in that. I then wear them to come home and do some chores before I shower and get ready for the day.

I also would wear that same outfit to the concierge lounge to run and get food for the kids. I would never be barefoot. I don't think I would venture to an actual restaurant/ food court dressed like that though. To me my jammies are more like lounge pants.

The concierge lounge is more like a restaurant than running out to pick up the paper. If you can't get dressed to come pick up some snacks or continental breakfast, you need to bring your own food and store it in your room. This is not the dorm. It's not the frat house. It's not your living room or kitchen. It is a public meeting area and bathrobes and pajamas are not welcome. GET DRESSED!!

I live near Baltimore and sorry but wearing pjs out in public is plain tacky. Thankfully I haven't seen it in my area. If one isn't a morning person then stay home until they awake.

Well you must get out more because go to any MALL and all the High school and College kids are all wearing their PJ's .Heck I think my DD entire soccer team wears them to the games.

Now I'm not talking of the SHEER I'm talking regular flannel/jersey pants and mine that I wear around Disney are just like shorts almost to my knees .

As for the shoes was he inside the rest. or is it an outside carry out window/counter .If they have a problem then it should be Noshirt/shoes no service but if not then don't worry. Also I don't go anywhere without something on my feet( even in waterparks with water shoes ) but thats just me I'm not going to tell others how unsafe it is.

And 1 last thing you can stare at me all you want (surelly not saying you would though) but i don't care or answer to anyone but GOD and myself.I wear what i concider situation clothing and when on vacation I dress for comfort and comfort only.

Since it is called the concierge 'lounge', I don't see a problem wearing lounge wear. As was mentioned before, most lounge pants like this cover more than what most outfits these days do. We're not talking sheer or short, or even bare feet.

A lot of bars are also called lounges. Does that mean you wear your PJs and a robe to the bar? I think not. NO PJS AND ROBES!!

In University I would sometimes roll out of bed go to my 8:30 class in my pj's and return back to bed after class. However it was usually during mid terms or when I was out waaaaaay to late the night before. I have been known to drop my hubby off at the train station in the morning in my fleecy Old navy pant which I would swealter in if I tried to sleep in them. Would I do that in Disneyworld? Um no. Usually we go straight to the busses after eating. We usually stay in value resorts and we see a lot of the highschool cheerleaders ( we always seem to be there when they are) hanging out in the food court in thier pj bottoms but Ive always seen everyone in shoes.

Well except Cinderella, she was missing one.

The first time I ever saw anyone wear PJ'S to the store was over THIRTY years ago! Yep, that's right...30 years ago. I was incredibly young :lmao: , spending the summer in Southern California. I just thought it was those craaaazy Californians. :hippie:

Its your personal right to go to Subway in pj pants. I think many pj's that women wear today can go either way and I wouldn't think twice about running to a nearby store in them.

I have to think that some people get way too offended over the smallest items. I think the not wearing shoes in public does cross the line but for whom though. Sure I will stare and just shake my head at the sheer lack of intelligence of not putting on shoes when there is just all kinds of stuff on any given surface (glass, metal, possible bacteria that causes athletes foot, etc.). But I'm not about to lose my appetite over it.

I'm sure those that are just sooo offended by those going out to the grocery store, etc. in decent pj clothing never have offended other folks. I am sure they are a pilar of example of how to act, dress, speak, etc. so as to not offend ANYONE. :rolleyes1

I was thinking the same thing. Look, I mean no offense to anyone. Really I don't. I really just trying to understand.

I'm not really talking about those sleepwear flannel or cotton pants that you can't tell if they are pajamas or just casual pants, as long as you have a shirt on.

I'm talking about bathrobes, slippers, curlers, boxers, bathing suits, bare feet, sheer nighties, etc. It's a hotel for crying out loud, it isn't a slumber party.

Would you actually go to a restaurant in your hometown dressed like that, or do you think it's okay at WDW because your room is nearby and that somehow makes it different?

.

It's hard to classify the Belle Vue Lounge...in the afternoon and evening it's a :smokin: bar inside the Boardwalk Inn with a fairly large lounging area with tables just off the lobby. In the morning, they've converted it to a counter service type place where breakfast items and coffee are served. People can take the food back to their room or sit at a table in the lounge. : :surfweb:

I agree...Honestly, I would feel uncomfortable in pajama pants outside of my house. I would feel like I wasn't completely dressed, I guess :confused3

As long as it's not just a robe or risque jammies, I probably wouldn't even thing twice...it's the no shoes thing. I think where I live it violates health codes to be barefoot in stores or restaurants. I just don't get it. Honestly I wouldn't care if someone came to the food court/breakfast/restaurant in modest jammies and slippers, but naked tootsies and booty are for breakfast in bed.

Well it's funny we are talking about what is not right to wear in public and DW was outside on a smoke break and said the neighbor up the street peed on the other neighbors van.
What was worse was when DW said something his comment was when you got to go you got to go.
I told her next time take a pic and call the cops.

On our recent stay at CSR, a guy came into the bar wearing his Speedo.

Guys, seriously, just say "no" to wearing a Speedo. Even at the pool, it isn't a good look. :rotfl2:
