Okay, everybody seems to be addicted to Bare Minerals!

I guess I am just not so sure. I too am not liking the base make-ups that are out right now. They all feel like propylene glycol!!! But I do not think that the loose powders are for me.

I am interested in the Jane Iredale, since they have a pure-pressed, and not just the loose powder. They also have the new liquid-minerals.

Anybody use Jane Iredale?

Can anyone give some comparison?

TIA!!! :goodvibes

Definitely interested in learning more. I'm afraid the BM will make me look like a melting candle. I have oily skin and I've noticed on the infomercial that the women had a dewey, moist glow. I don't want that. I'm also distrustful of it offering good coverage because I keep hearing how "light and natural" it is. I'd like to try Sheer Cover but don't like the idea of "signing up" to get it on automatic delivery. Have you ever tried to get something like that stopped? :scared: I once had to cancel a credit card to get an item I didn't like stopped.

Someone I know wears JI and as far as I know she really likes it! I sent her this link so she could answer herself.

I found aromaleigh.com and really liked their products as well. No "dewey" look to my face. They do send samples for relatively cheap costs. I love their eyeshadows. I wear CG Trueblend powder foundation now since it is portable. It covers fairly nicely too... just not mineral. I do really like how my face felt with the aromaleigh though, but it just doesn't travel well (none of the loose powders do IMO)

Thank you for sending the link Elaine! :)

I've been using Iredale pure pressed for probably 3-4 years now. I'm thrilled with it!. When deciding whether I should go with BM or Iredale, the woman showing me the products recommended Iredale because, *in her words*, it has more of the matte finish whereas BM can be a little "glowy". I'm too old for "glowy". In additon, I use the Jane Iredale's Absence. It's an oil control primer. It also helps the foundation to go on smoothly and evenly. Their pure matte finish powder is also wonderful! :) I'm an Iredale fan for life! Great products!

Oh and aromaleigh's eyeshadows are wonderful!! Love'em!

Thank You, thank you, thank you!!!

I think that this definitely helps me to decide to try the Jane Iredale. The old base makeup that I was using had me hooked precisely because it was Matte! Anything else, and I look like I have Crisco on my face. It was actually called "Mattique", and I am thinking that it was a lot like a liquid mineral makeup. It was great. Only problem was, I had to give it up, because to achieve that Matte look, it had aluminum in it. I have high levels of aluminum in my system!!!

(probably also caused by fluoride. So, nothing with aluminum or fluoride for me anymore. No more iced tea!!! it has very high levels of both....)

ilovepcot - I know just what you mean about that melted (crisco) look. But, it probably doesn't matter as much whether it is BE or JI... both are 'mineral' makeup. It is all the other ingredients in regular foundations that cause the melted look. That is the whole idea of mineral makeup. Minerals do not melt! It is just the amount of 'shimmer' in the powder that produces a glossy look over a matte look.

I am going to see if I can find somewhere locally that might carry some Jane Iredale. But, I might not have any luck. It is scary to order make-up online, sight unseen! Especially expensive make-up.

I don't suppose anyone knows of a good price on JI anywhere online?

I'm impressed! I did a search to see where I could find this cosmetic line and there are 3 places in my town. One is at our most *prestigious* medical clinic! Will definitely be looking into this further. ::yes:: I believe Bizrate had listings of prices for online ordering but I want to actually look at the items in person if possible.
