Who uses this product? What do you reccomend? I have seen this on Tv advertised but im not one to blow cash on something advertised on tv at 3am. Laughs!

TIA!! :flower:

I used it, but it made my skin burn and turn orange. It's been posted on the board before and other people swear by it. I have very sensitive skin and most likely just had an allergic reaction.

I'll have to get back to ya! I just ordered it on Saturday. I haven't been happy with my Mary Kay or Aveda foundations lately. My hairdresser is using it and loves it. I am very oily and have large pores so we'll see how it goes. I figured with the 60 day money-back offer I can't lose!

Ok.. I mamajoan admit that I am a Bare Escentials addict!

I am a redhead with sensitive skin... I have used lots of products..mostly high end stuff.. I used Lancome for years.

My dd who is bi-racial, black/white, turned me on to the BE. GREAT STUFF!!
LOVE IT>> LOVE IT!!

It is the first foundation that truly matches all skin tones... and in our family alone that is a miracle feat!!

The only thing I have trouble with is the smaller pots of powder... yes, I have dropped two of them causing a lovely mess. However it all came out in the wash! Even the darkest charcoal eyeliner powder. So it is not the pots fault.. just clumsy me...
I started with a Try Me kit.. and fell in love the first week. It does not dry my skin, it is not oily either. It wears well and is true to color.

Try it.. have fun with it... and prepare to share it with your daughters... as they will steal it from you!

:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

oh.. advice tips..
purchase the BISQUE concealer.... great stuff. I use it on acne scars, new pimple pop ups etc. as cover up..
Use the BE Brushes.. use tiny bits of product.. always tap the brush after swirling... tap again.... then swirl on to your face...

I didn't have those problems, but was less than impressed with the product itself. My sister uses another brand called Sheer Cover that I really prefer, but unfortunately, it requires you to belong to a "club" to get it, where you get monthly deliveries. If they ever start selling that in the stores, I'd buy it.

I am currently in the process of trying out Aromaleigh cosmetics. They are the cheapest and don't use the same ingredients as some of the other mineral make ups. So far I am liking what I am using... they do provide a matte finish (unlike many others). You can go to their website and order samples for $2 each... I'm about to place my first real order with them soon :)

I've been using it for a couple months! I didn't buy it off the infomercial though. They sell it on Sephora.com. Individually. I love it. :) I don't know all the terms, but I use just a regular powder, a little of the mineral veil, and a touch of the warmth bronzer.

And I have wicked sensitive skin and I guess I'm lucky not to have had a reaction. :) Took me a while to get used to the swirling and tapping method, and how to apply it correctly since it is just minerals rather than a powder, but I love it. I never wear foundation and I hate cakey powder. I LOVE this stuff. Never thought I'd own anything that was infomercial-ized!

(Says the girl who also just bought an Ionic Breeze... yikes!) :rotfl:

Love it love it, love it... been using it for over a year now!

I buy it at a brick and mortar store called Ulta, were I tested it first, I understand that at some malls they have stores to that will give you makeovers (called make unders!)

I'm over 40 and and have 'age spots' I work with Scouts, and was tired of people telling me I had dirt on my face - and I also used high end lancome, etc I even tried the derma thick stuff for scars, and it just didnt seem to hold, but BE does...

you can also do a search on QVC they have great prices (like the Ulta stores!) and there is someone on the Dis that runs a forum on Delphi that talks all about BE and some sell samples on ebay of the eye colors...

I do notice that during the dry winters in Chicago this does require me to add more moisturizer, and to use the face scrubs, but in the high humidity, I no longer have break out problems I was having, plus my makeup doesnt smear on pillows etc... Love BE!!

:cheer2:

I love Bare Escentuals! I have large pores and oily skin. The coverage I get with BE is great and it doesn't cause me to break out. Nothing like having a bunch a makeup zits when your 35. I know Ulta sells BE. Some of the foundation pots are larger than the ones I got from BE directly.

I got up a little late this morning and arrived at work without a speck of makeup on, so I was thinking that I might stop by Sephora later today and try this out - love the samples!
Great thread for inspiration! Thanks!
Dana

I use Jane Iredale mineral makeup and have had no problems. I only use the powder foundation and think it covers well enough on its own. I really wouldn't want to have to use a bunch of products to get the same results. If you go to the Jane Iredale website, you can do a search for salons that sell it in your area.

My "try me" kit shipped Friday from QVC, so I am impatiently tapping my foot waiting for it to get here. LOL I have some of the color, but am now trying the foundation. I HOPE I like it. I'm really excited about trying it. :)

I love it, too. I tried it out after all the raves about it here on the DIS. I will say that it takes some getting used to. I didn't immediately fall in love with it. You have to play with it for a week or two to get the gist of putting it on properly. B.E. feels so light that you almost feel like you have no make-up on. It also covers well and blends well.
I use the foundation, bisque as a concealer, mineral veil, clear radiance, and a blush. If I'm dressing up for something, I'll use eye color, too. I use another brand of lipstick and mascara. Hope that helps! It is pricey but worth the investment.

Love this product! Both of my sisters use this and I have 2 of my nieces wearing it. The nieces are just beginning with make-up and I think it is a great way to start as you don't have to worry about the jawline etc. They are both doing very well with it. I think it gives good coverage and I have very oily skin with large pores also. I think the product lasts a long time and I still haven't used all of an eye shadow/glimmer yet! (It's been years!)

Good luck using BE. I hope you enjoy using it as much as I do.

HI,

Yes, I use Sheer Cover from Bare Minerals I believe. It's the informerical with Leeza Gibbons. I do really really like it. The foundation is the powder and it works well with my skin. I like the finishing powder as well.

I would recommend it. And I only got the ONE month supply (NO MONTHLY CLUB MEMBERSHIP) and the one month lasted about 3 or 4 months.

I would recommend it.

It's a similar product, but not the same.
I've been using Bare Minerals since November and I love it.
I saw the infomercials and thought it looked good. I found that a cosmetic/beauty store in our area called Ulta sells it. I bought a starter kit there. An advantage to buying it there was that they had more colors available than were available on the infomercial.
For my coloring (very fair) the "Warmth" is kind of tricky to use. I end up too orange looking. I haven't used Warmth (maybe this summer if I get a little tan), but I did get a more rose-y blush to use.

My oldest DD has been using it too. She didn't like it the first week she tried it, but really likes it now.
We agree with everything they say about it in the infomercial.

I like the way it feels on my face but don't like the way it makes my wrinkles show up. Am I doing something wrong????

I LOVE BareMinerals. I will NEVER use another product!

I haven't tried it but heard that it's not-so-great on aging skin (i.e., wrinkles). I haven't spent the money on it because I have extremely dry skin, I'm 41, and I'm afraid this stuff is going to make me look "papery" instead of "dewy."

I started using it based on threads like these. I have VERY dry skin and actually the dryness this winter has not been near as bad as in the past. I don't notice the papery look around my eyes, but I use a fairly light touch.

I do like it, I got a make over at the store in Orlando and at 44 I was one of the younger women in there. The two women beside me looked great.
