Bare Escentuals & Eye Color

Hi Ladies,

I really like BE but just don't get the eye color.
I wonder if I'm not happy with it's staying power because of the products I put on my lids prior to BE color application.

Also, do you use only brushes to apply your BE eye color or do you also use foam applicators?

What are your favorite shades & what do you "prime" your lids with?

Urban Decay's Eyeshadow Primer Potion is great to use with all powder shadows- they last longer, and don't crease:

You can also apply the BE shadows with a wet brush if you want a deeper color and longer life.

I prime with Mally primer or Clinique's. I can't wear BE eyeshadow (allergic, believe it or not!) but can wear the glimmers and glimpses. I like the neutral ones the best. I always apply any shadow with a brush. My favorite eyeshadows are Smashbox's though--I can wear those w/o a primer and do OK. Of course, a primer is always better.

I just prime with my BE foundation. My favorite shade is the Celestial shade, its sort of a glittery gray. I also really like the eye kit they sell as the basic eye stuff, I think it has Peach Puff, Vanilla, Soft Focus and Fashionista.

I'm going to start by changing my primer, I'm using Smashbox but might go for Urban Decay.

I prime also with the foundation. I got the eye kit for Christmas with the colors listed above. I really like them, although I don't like the eye liner stuff. Just doesn't work for me.

I did try the Urban Decay primer and couldn't stand the way my eyelids felt.

BE has a primer but I don't like it. Smashbox breaks out my face. I don't like the BE shadows either but I'm devoted to the foundation. I'm going to try out the urban decay. I'm a classical girl for shadow (with contact lens) I still go back to Clinque.

I actually love the BE Primer and use it all over my face (and even on my lids). I don't think that BE shadows have very good "staying power" and by the time I come home from work each days it's mostly gone off my face. I've also used the Urban Decay primer and it worked just about as well as the BE primer.

The best eyeshadow I've ever used is Makeup For Ever (they call it MUFE). That stuff is incredible (albeit expensive).

I actually just tried a new mineral eye shadow today. I can't wait to see how it lasts.

I just bought some new foundation from Everyday Minerals and they gave me a eye color palette for free (and it is HUGH). I just used it and it feels way different than the BE shadows. Less powdery, more "sticky" and it looks really good. I'll see how it is be the end of the day.
