Barcelona to Paris ## UPDATED POST 25

Thanks everyone, I so enjoy each point of view/opinion.

I do realize it’s his vacation as well. Having said that, I also wish to think of myself. Everything I do resolves around him, I love him, but also love myself, we must communicate and compromise. We will, I am not worried for that.

We do want to just take in Paris for the week, not go anywhere else. My son in now living in Europe, so it’s a trip we have been taking, and will continue to take quite often. We will (hopefully) have chances to lolllygag around and take the train. I also just want to wind down with him after an active cruise.

He thinks like @Praying Colonel , the time to check in, etc. all this wasted time at the airport. I told him that if he thinks he hates wasting time at am airport, wait until he takes the train.

Also, as stated, the pricing. As we are Canadian, I believe I found 283euro for the 2 of us, which was comparable to the train. We have to add in the dollar

There's a great website called Rome 2 Rio that shows the various ways to get to/from locations around the world.

Looks like plane is fastest by travel time but when you throw in having to get there early and the time to deplane, I think it would be a wash between flying and train.

I'll say we took the train several times (Toulouse-St. Jean Pied de Port, Santiago de Compostela-Madrid and Madrid-Barcelona) last fall and enjoyed it very much. DW hates to fly and the train is a great alternative in Europe.

Enjoy Barcelona! We were there for a week and didn't come close to seeing everything we wanted to see. Looking forward to returning.

Despite the chart above, Paris to Barcelona is a less than 2 hour flight. The "cheapest" route shown above must have a layover which is not ideal for such a short flight.

If you are interested, maybe a train to Versailles from Paris to see the palace might be a compromise.

Is Paris only his idea or your idea?

It’s both of ours. My daughter spent a lot of time there for such a young age and loved it. We have one of her postcards sitting here, and we want to be there instead of here for the day she passed.

So I purchased the flight. Since I’m sure nobody has rested not knowing
We are also staying in an AIRBNB in a nice arrondissement. We have a balcony with patio and a view of the Eiffel Tower, somehow I was drawn to it.
I live in a big city, I’m not interested in the 1st or 2nd arrondissement.
We will venture out and relax at night, hopefully
