Barcelona hotels close to port. Know a good one?

Hi

Ok, we're complete newbies to Disney cruising - well, all crusing actually, so I apologise in advance if I ask anything completely ridiculous

So, my first question is, do you know of a fairly decent hotle close to the cruise port in Barcelona that can accommodate 2 adults and 2 children? I've looked on a few sites and am struggling to find many that will house us and our two children (9yrs and 1yr) in the same room.

You may have better luck at some of the Apartment-hotels. They will have 2 bedrooms and the rates are the same as/less than one room at some of the hotels.

We have booked a room at the www.hispanos7suiza.com based on recommendations found here!

Other places you might want to try are http://www.apartmentscasp74.com; the Novotel has family rooms, as does the Hotel Regina. If you do a search on "Barcelona Hotels", you should come up with some more recommendations. (These are just the ones I had bookmarked!!)

We're going to spend a couple days in Barcelona prior to our cruise, so having the extra space is a huge benefit (especially since our kids go to sleep around 7:30!!!)

Strange you should mention the Novotel because I e-mailed them the other day about a family room but they e-mailed me back to ask which of the four Barcelona Novotels I was interested in - it hadn't even crossed my mind that there may be more than one of them.

About 2 weeks before our Med cruise last June I booked a room via Priceline for the W Barcelona. My request was for a hotel near Port 4-5 star. It was fabulous and we were able to walk along the shore to great restaurants! There are lots of pre-post cruisers there. It is also very, very easy and fairly inexpensive to get cabs.
