Barbie and Ken do Disney Trip Report COMPLETED!!

Hey again everyone! I had some time tonight to relax and finally uploaded all my Disney pictures onto my new laptop (graduation present!!) so I figured that I would send out an installment tonight!! Thanks for all your nice wishes and for being so patient .. honestly - I didn't even realize that it has been almost 4 months since I started this trip report - but 4 months in my life goes by SO QUICK! I am still PINING for Disney and even though when I left I was READY to go home - I wish I was back there everyday! Hopefully we can try to take another trip withing the next year! Okay on to the trippie my wonderful patient readers! -

So after seeing Devine and company, Todd and I headed off to the FLIGHTS OF WONDER! Such an exciting title right!? Well I wasn't convinced by it. When we went in to sit down, we got great seats and I was pretty convinced that it was going to be SO boring and horrible - I dont even LIKE birds. I have to say I LOVED it! Todd and I were laughing the whole time and thought it was hilarious and that the birds were really cool. I especially loved the bird that sang 7 different songs - I was amazed by it! AWESOME - would definitely recommend visiting it!! Here are some pictures from it :

After the really cool bird show, we were famished and ready for lunch. We headed over to Pizzafari. This restaurant is REALLY cute! I loved the decor - so colorful and vibrant. It was just really cute and wasn't to busy, so I was MORE THAN happy with it!

I ordered the Italian Sandwich and an Apple Pie (honestly I am CRINGING now as I look at all the food we consumed! .. now that I've lost a lot of weight and am working on keeping it off - this food just looks sickening and I am embarassed to even put it on here! - Im kind of embarassed that I was in love with food so much that I actually TOOK these pictures - oh boy!)

013.jpg

My food was amazing!! I really enjoyed every minute of it - the sandwich was yummy (highly recommended) and it was extremely filling and the apple pie was probably the best I have ever eaten!

Todd ordered the Chicken Parmesan Sandwich and Chocolate Cake .. look at that massive slice!!

014.jpg

An hour or so earlier on the trip, I had stopped at one of those little souvenir stands and convinced myself that I HAD to have a souvenir cup. Now honestly, in my mind - this was WHAT I NEEDED! This was it! So I slap down 7 bad boys for this baby, filled with water. About 2 minutes later I realized that it was ABSOLUTELY ridiculous and a waste of money and space and was kicking myself because NOW I was stuck having to hold THIS all day :

015.jpg

I was definitely not happy with my decision! I haven't even used it since - its GINORMOUS! The whole day it was digging into me and poking at me.. its DANGEROUS I tell you - they should put a warning on it! Of course I decided I had to have the cup with the Elephant and his humongous pointy sharp tusks! RRR im still kicking myself for that decision!

After our yummy, fattening lunch - we were off to ITS TOUGH TO BE A BUG! I was so excited to see this show! I couldn't wait! We hadn't seen it on our other trips to AK so I was more than excited for something new - I also was excited to take pictures of our lovely bug glasses like all the other Disboard junkies!

018.jpg

IT WAS GREAT! This was my alltime favorite show! I loved everything about it - and i HATE bugs! I am deathly afraid of bugs and absolutely LOVED this show! The effects were great and my favorite part was at the end when the bugs scurry under your butts to "exit" the theater! I also love when you get poked in the back. That sounds strange, but seriously it is great fun!! I was in love with my bug glasses too.. I actually toyed with the notion of STEALING them! .. Im corrupt I guess - but needless to say I did not steal them and returned them lovingly to there big black bin when we were done!!

After the show, we were ready to make our way towards Festival of the Lion King! On the way, we stopped for a few photos -

019.jpg

020.jpg

We were the FIRST people in line for the Lion King and had to wait about 20 minutes for the show to start. During that time we took a ton of silly photos which I won't post and one cute one which I will - and spent most of our time giggling over my stupid elephant cup and the fact that it was BOUND to poke one of our eyes out before the day was over!!

024.jpg

When we finally got in, I was so excited! We were in the Elephant section and in the FIRST ROW! It was an AMAZING show! I loved the singing and was mesmorized by all the colorful costumes and exotic animals! I loved the huge animals and basically I just enjoyed the whole thing immensely! I loved interacting in the show with our different noises and sounds. Todd and I liked acting like little kids and really showing off our Elephant stuff!

The Festival of the Lion King was great and I was bummed to leave, but I really liked that the show was a decent length! It was a half hour or so and was very sufficient! After the great show, we went to Pochahontas - mainly because I could hear her singing Colors of the Wind and I happen to love that song. Well, this show SUCKED! It was horrible and I hated it. Pochahontas was DEFINITELY not Native American and had a horrible voice and it was just a show intended for a much younger audience. I was glad that I saw it though, because now I know never to go back and I like to formulate my own opinions. Here is my NON-NATIVE Pokey and her crazy talking tree!:

039.jpg

After the show, considering as we were already IN Camp Minnie Mickey, we met some characters!! Character interaction is so fun! I have a blast seeing all of them!

Okay - I am at my max for images so I will continue in another post! Bare with me!

Congratulations Blayne on your graduation!!!!! :cool1:  :cool1: You must be so excited that high school is over!

That pic of you and Todd with Donald is wicked cute!! And that chocolate cake looks soooo good and its even decked out for Valentines day. :lmao: Can't wait to read more. I hope you and Todd are enjoying your summer!!

and continuing the Disney magic -

Waiting in line for Minnie - who I decided I did not like anymore after she shunned me and rubbed up all in Todds BUSINESS! Gosh darn you MINNIE - HES MINE! hahaha

After we frolicked with the characters we made our way to Rafikis Planet Watch. Now do any of you wonderful readers remember way back when when I told you that I had a RAFIKI STORY?? WELL ITS ABOUT TO HAPPEN SO FASTEN YOUR SEATBELTS LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!!!

So here we are all innocently on our way to Rafikis Planet Watch - we get into the train and ride on up to this "lovely" retreat!

047.jpg

048.jpg

We make our way into the main building and I see that Pochahontas, Rafiki, and Jiminy Cricket are taking pictures. Since I am COMPLETELY uninterested in Pokey and what she has to say (I truthfully have nothing wrong with pochahontas just the women who played them on this fateful day!) - I move on to Rafiki. I patiently and politely wait in line for who I think is a kind and cool character. OH BOY TODD ANd ME ARE NEXT IN LINE! OOH HERE WE GO - MAKING OUR WAY UP TO RAFIKI! As I get up to Rafiki (the defining moment is always when you first strut on up to that strange character and you think - hmm I wonder who is inside there looking out at me) So Rafiki decides he is going to put his arm around me. Okay thats cool - will make a cute picture. As he puts his arm around me, his big yucky furry hand "accidentally" graces my chest... or what I thought was accidentally UNTIL he turns to me, looks down at my chest and start RUBBING my breast and TAPPING WILDLY on my First time pin. I mean seriously he is getting into this, making these strange noises and flailing his arms as he squeezes and rubs my BREAST ( i have to say breast because it wont let me say the other word lol)! Now okay - I can deal with some accidental chest touch-age but this is a NAUGHTY MONKEY! Todd was just staring flabbergasted at the situation and I am like "Umm yes it is my first time and yeah Im not sure what your doing" - photopass guy is like "Umm RIGHT? Lets take your picture now?" Im like "yeah lets before this crazy monkey MOLESTS me!" So we take the picture (notice that my face is beat red and that is my "fake smile" Rafiki's hand is still straying close and Todd is trying not to erupt with laughter at my discomfort and BURNING cheeks! - Im pretty sure that the look on Rafikis face is one of SATISFACTION - dont you? lol)

049.jpg

and Todd and I immediately run away from this crazy sexual critter and dart into these pitch black "sound rooms" where we sat for about 20 minutes discussing this horrible and strange incident that just occured and whether or not we should contact ANIMAL CONTROL! lol We were dieing laughing and I eventually got over the fact that a monkey just tried to COP A FEEL! Gosh I will certainly not look at RAFIKI the same way again - I am warning you to take precautions with this frisky rascal! OH LORD! - So theres my story!! Hope you liked it!

After the "fondling episode", Todd and I took a few peeks around the place.

050.jpg

051.jpg

By the time we were done, I was wishing that I had NEVER decided to come to Rafikis Planet Watch and pretty sure that my "episode" was deserving of an icecream, so I purchased my FIRST Mickey head icecream. It was scrumptious. Todd and I shared it as we endured the train ride home and the periodic fit of giggles that would erupt when Todd looked at the look on my still red and stunned face!

When we got back, it was time for the Jammin' Jungle Parade! I temporarily got over my discomfort because I was so excited to see this! We got an AMAZING SPOT!! The doors next to Kilimanjaro Safaris open up and out comes the parade. We were RIGHT THERE! It was GREAT! I loved every moment of the parade - minus the part when I had to see the famous FONDLER HIMSELF sitting high and mighty a top his float! AHHHHH!!

After the AWESOME parade! We tried to charge our way through the masses of people and took about 8 million photopass pictures before we left Animal Kingdom - making sure to pick up all our packages on the way out (I like to buy lots of pictures - I will show photopass pics at end of trip report). We had reservations for Boma tonight and I was wicked excited about all the exotic food I would get to try!! It was early, but since we were right next to AKL we decided to head on over and see if we could get in!

I cant believe what a short ride it is to AKL! I have always wanted to stay there and now that I have classified Animal Kingdom as my favorite park, I think it is a MUST! This resort is fantastic! When I walked in I was amazed at how beautiful and authentic it is!! We made our way down to Boma and magically Todd was able to get us in almost an HOUR early! We were seated momentarily and left to our own devices and boy were we hungry!!

We started with soups and worked our way around! Some of my favorites were : the prime rib (who ever heard of being able to eat ALL the prime rib you want? Well apparently not me and Todd since we got so excited that we went up there so many times we actually started TALKING to the cooks at the meat station and found out that they are from Boston actually quite close to us!! - weird I know!), macaroni and cheese (Im real ETHNIC huh?), mealy squares, coconut cake, potatos with afritude and so much more! Honestly this restaurant is great - awesome atmosphere - great food - its fantastic! Definitely worth every penny!

By the time we were done, we had the biggest belly aches and had to ROLL ourselves out to the bus stop and then back to AK where we had to ROLL ourselves onto our Pop Century bus and then ROLL ourselves back up to our rooms! It was an amazing day - an extremely LONG amazing day and I honestly don't remember what happened after that because we were asleep so quick!!

Until next time friends! Thanks for reading and sticking it out!! : ) Have a great day! Time for me to get some sleep for my big PAR-TAY tomorrow!!! xox

BLAYNE

Yay! Welcome back Blayne! Congratulations on both your graduation and your weight loss. . .those took alot of work, so go and enjoy your summer! Loving your new installments - looking forward to more, but take your time and post when you're ready! :teeth:

Definitely worth the wait!! Some of us are still with you!!

First of all, congrats on graduating and the weight loss!! I am starting a diet and I understand the effort it takes!!

Sounds like you had fun at AK!! It's so weird- I listen to DIS radio so much that I know the words to the Jammin Jungle Parade (dorky, I know), but I've never seen the actual parade in whole.

Oh well, have fun at your party. I graduated from HS 2 years ago, but it seems like just yesterday. Not to sound greedy, but the party really helped out with purchases for the dorm room and school :goodvibes

Can't wait for more!!
Lauryn

LOL:lmao: I will have to make sure to avoid Rafiki when I am AK next week. Great update, absolutely worth the wait. I'm happy to read that you liked Boma. I have been on the fence about eating here as the menus I have seen online seem very exotic.

Have fun at your party tomorrow!

Welcome Back!!!!

Congrats on graduation and the weight loss!!!

Great update - looking forward to the rest :)

Blayne,
Congratulations on your graduation, any pics????

Loved your latest installment on AK. I know it was probably a pain to carry that elephant cup all day, but it really is kinda cute in your pictures. LOL

Happy that you loved Bugs Life, and Lion King show. They are definately two highlights of AK.

My very non loving WDW DH loves AKL, maybe someday we will pay the extra $$ to stay there. Last trip I rented points for OKW stay, very economical, who knows once AKL is DVC that may be a way to afford it.;)

Another great job....

YAH! Congrats to you! I am so happy all these wonderful things are happening...You are quite the famous little disney chick ;) Chin up and thanks for finishing it. There IS life outside the Disboards :thumbsup2

I am scared to death to write my trip report :scared1: ...haha you give me courage sista!

Congrats again!:cheer2:

OMGosh naughty Rafiki!!! LOL What a great installment. We love AKL too and really want to buy DVC there! Hope your grad party was amazing, and congrats on your weight loss!

I am :lmao: at Rafiki! Your DBF is a tolerant man! I would have been the same as you, like :confused3?! Thanks for the laugh though!

I am excited about going to AK after reading your report. A lot of the reports that I read just say that AK is so-so. We planned to visit for one day.

So glad you are back...

GREAT update!!!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 I can't believe Rafiki did that. He is definitely a bad monkey and I hope I don't encounter that one in September. I can't wait to hear more. Your TR is definitely worth waiting for.
