Barbie and Ken do Disney Trip Report COMPLETED!!

:thumbsup2 Great update Blayne! AK isn't my fav, I must admit, but I do love Everest! Glad you enjoyed it! I second the call for tattoo pics...I can't wait to see what you got. Glad you are feeling better. You've been working so hard!

Blayne- love your report and am so glad you are finishing!!! You have over 100,000 views Miss Popular!

Okay. So I haven't updated you on my personal life yet!

My job is going well. I pretty much now all the kids in the school and they call me Miss Blayne, which is cute. I like a lot of the people who work there, not ALL, but most. I'm hoping that things continue to be good.

I am not as sick as I was. Now, I'm pretty much over it, except my stomach still isn't really right. But I'm okay.

My tatoo. Well that's another story. I ended up cancelling the appointment because I just wasn't "ready" yet. Idk, I'm young and everyone I know has regretted their first tatoo, plus ALL my friends are getting tatoos, so I figured I would hold off and make sure that I was getting it for the RIGHT reason. Also for anyone who would like to know - its going to be a crown (like a juicy couture one) on my right ankle.

That sprinkly thing that Todd had was a marshmallow with sprinkles stuck into graham cracker, marshmallow, and chocolate. It was "supposed" to be Le Cellier's take on a smore, but Todd hated it. Also, he couldn't figure out how to eat it, when he finally did, he stopped because in his words it "sucked". I did have to take the picture though because it was just the coolest looking thing!!

We never ended up seeing ILLUMINATIONS! I was bummed! But we went for 11 days and did A LOT so now we have something else to look forward to on the next trip (which Todd just mentioned looking over my shoulder right now saying "I can't wait to go back, BABE CAN'T YOU NOT WAIT TO GO BACK!" in which I just smiled and realized why I keep him around!!) We also didn't spend a lot of time in World Showcase which bummed me out. Next time I want to spend a WHOLE DAY in world showcase!!

Thanks for reading and for sticking around!

Great trip report so far!!!!!! My boyfriend and I are leaving in 23 days, I just cant wait. I love animal kingdom too, Its one of my favorites.:woohoo:

Thanks for another great update! I just love reading them and seeing all the pictures! AK is one of my fave parks, too...my DH hates it, though, so I'm hoping I can use my DD as an excuse to spend more time there when we go in December...she LOVES animals!

It makes me all warm and fuzzy to know that Blayne appreciated Animal
Kingdom as a first time visitor, AND I was gosh-darn proud of her for
defending her place in line!

Sometimes it's obvious that a parent with a small child is bringing the child
back into line from a restroom. That doesn't bother me. But when I
see people who are pretending to rejoin their party, but really are being
sneaky, I will also stand my ground.

People will often pretend not to speak English, but they all seem to know
the universal sign of shaking your fist at them with a loud "NO."
My favorite response I've ever heard someone tell a line manipulator:

"If your family loved you they would wait for you."

BLAYNE! Thanks for coming back to us!!! Did you see how lost we were? Some of us even resorted to very stupid jokes:goodvibes

Glad your job is good - what about your tummy? I loved your AK installment - one of my favs, too! It will be great to read your next one:cloud9:

Blayne - That's a very mature stance on the tattoo. Wait until you're 100% ready.

I really enjoyed your last installment -- AK holds a special place in my heart :goodvibes just like you and for many of the same reasons. And EE is OUR FAVORITE coaster! My DH and I cannot wait to get on it again -- talk about THRILLING!

I'm so glad that both you AND Todd love WDW so much! It really makes it easier than having to convince your partner to go. Us Disney addicts always want to be adding the next trip.

Glad you like your job. That's so important. And even on your worst days there, just sit back and remember just how miserable you were at your last job. That should pull you out of any funk you may get in.

Thanks for the updates...I'm thrilled that you intend to finish it. We are all really really enjoying it! :woohoo:

With the great night sleep we had received the previous night, Todd and I woke up ready for a great day at MGM. It was to be a full day at a park with no jumping around so we were looking forward to taking advantage of that!! I think it it so much more relaxing to NOT park hop, so I was happy happy!

It was a little chilly today, so we donned our sweatshirts and were on our way. MGM had an early magic hour today so we got there early and the park was dead. I took some pictures of the scenery.

The first thing we did was run to Rock n Rollercoaster and take a fantastic ride!! I just love that coaster!! After that, we made our way over to Voyage of the Little Mermaid and went on in. I LOVE the Little Mermaid (just bought the anniversary edition DVD!!) so I was excited. I can't say that Todd was because clearly, he wasn't. That didn't matter though, he didn't mind as long as I was happy! (That's my man!) So the show... ehh... I wouldn't rate it highly, but hey! what can you do! After we got out of the show Mr. Incredible was waiting for us with absolutely no line (this is the first of a bajillion pictures you will see of us and Mr. Incredible!) (unless you've already seen one .. which is probable!) Mr. Incredible is SEXY as is Buzz Lightyear - hahahahaha!

IMG_2720.jpg

After that, I was SO EXCITED because we were ready to go to Beauty and the Beast. Another one of my favorite movies, I relate the most to Belle - "nose stuck in a book" pertains to ME as well as BELLE. I was just PUMPED! We made our way in and got some OKAY seats. They weren't the best, but my camera has a pretty good zoom! OMGOSH I loved it! Although the plot was played with slightly, the costumes and songs were wonderful and I loved it. I also loved the preshow.. a group of janitors singing .. i thought they were great however, now I can't remember their names for the life of me!

Here are some pictures from the fantastic show (I have a million more, but figure I will only show a handful!)

Well .. that was a little more then a handful but I'm sure you didn't mind!!

When Beauty and the Beast was over, we shopped a lot of the stores and meandered around. As we headed over to Backlot Express for a bite to eat, we ran into the Cars. I LOVE Cars and had recently purchased and watched that movie right before we left for Disney. I REALLY wanted to get a picture with them however this "photo-op" is run HORRIBLY. There is no form of a line. Everyone runs wild. If you want to get a picture, there are 18 other people in the shot with you. It was a bummer. Some lady offered to snap a picture of us with Lightning Mcqueen but it came out pretty bad.

IMG_2738.jpg

Todd led a bummed me (I told you IM FIVE YEARS OLD!! I GET DISAPPOINTED WHEN THINGS DONT GO MY WAY!! hahaha) over to Backlot Express. It had just opened since it was only 11, but we hadn't eaten breakfast that morning and we were pretty famished. We headed in - this place is really cute. The outside atmosphere is nice so we chose to sit out there. The food here was FANTASTIC!

I ordered : a hotdog (I was really craving it and OMG it was AMAZING!) fries, a Dr. pepper, and a fruit and yogurt parfait (which was AMAZING as well - I was so happy and pleasantly surprised by this place!) We would definitely go back here.

IMG_2739.jpg

Todd ordered: A double cheesburger, fries, a coke, and a marble cheesecake. He loved his food as well and was very satisfied.

IMG_2740.jpg

It was at this point that I figured I'd break the cardinal rule and amuse myself by feeding the birds. Oh man, I had great fun being rebellious. They were so cute and they would jump right into your hand. Hopefully I didn't contract the "bird flu" but its been a couple months, I'm PROBABLY out of the clear :cough cough: !!

When we were done "chowing down", we headed over to Indiana Jones. We were really early and waited outside for it to start.

IMG_2741.jpg

It was fine for awhile until the crowd got unbearable and everyone was pushing and being nuts. Here's Todd being grumpy because people are knocking him over!! Oh my little Grumpy Gus!!

IMG_2742.jpg

When they finally let us in, we got FRONT ROW SEATS! In the dead center. It was amazing. It would have been great to be called to be a volunteer, but we weren't quick enough I guess!! The show was awesome and I really enjoyed Indiana Jones. That's one of the shows that when "Disney trips" are on sitcoms, is ALWAYS on it. It was great to see it and Todd and I both loved it. When the show was over, Todd and I waited in a really short line to get pictures with the cast.

IMG_2744.jpg

When that was done, mosied around for a bit. We went to the Muppets 3D and then we got Fastpasses for Star Tours. We then headed over to Lights Motion Action Stunt Show. Todd had been waiting for this the whole trip. He loves cars and was very excited to see the show. I was excited to because I heard it was great!

IMG_2774.jpg

It didn't disappoint! Once again we had FRONT ROW SEATS!! LOVE IT! We were some of the last people there - got the best seats - and got out before everyone else! It was wonderful!

IMG_2749.jpg

Too many pictures -- must continue to next post!

After the stunt show we hit the next closest thing - The Backlot Tour. There was little to no wait and we hopped on excited to see some backstage things!

Here we are being silly on the train :

IMG_2755.jpg

We saw tons of cool stuff and I loved the part with the water and the mountain! OMGOSH so cool! I also LOVED the behind the scenes of the wardrobe area. It was my favorite part! I loved seeing all the costumes that were stored there and OH BOY IT WAS JUST WONDERFUL!

After the tour, we exited out of a fantastic "Villains" exhibit. Now anyone who knows me KNOWS that I LOVE THE VILLAINS. I'm pretty sure it is just because I can RELATE to their evilness. So I just LOVED this exhibit. Expecially Cruella De Vil who is my ALL TIME favorite of all the villains!! (who I didn't get to meet on this trip - bummer)

After the Villains Exhibit and Backlot Tours, we headed over to use our fastpasses for Star Tours. Omg. That is THE LAMEST ride I have ever encountered. I thought it was going to be intense - I WAS NERVOUS - it SAID that it was an intense motion simulator ride. I thought it was PATHETIC! Sorry to all you fans out there but Todd and I - DEFINITELY thought it was a waste of our Disney time!! haha

When that episode was over, we made our way around taking pictures with whatever characters we could.

IMG_2783.jpg

I wanted so bad to get a picture with the Evil Queen, but I was so NERVOUS. You should have seen me - a ball of nervous energy, watching the way she treated everyone and me not knowing what to say. She took an instant liking to Todd however and not much of one to me. Oh well!

Alice was sweet :

By now it was time for our Sci Fi Dine In reservation!! We were SOOOOO excited!! Little did I know it was just so much better than I could expect!

IMG_2787.jpg

IMG_2788.jpg

I have NEVER, I will repeat NEVER been in a restaurant that was as cool as this one. It cannot even be accurately described unless you go yourself. You walk into a room full of old, different colored cars with headlights that are on. You are under a night sky with a fence and grass in the distance. You are in front of a huge screen that shows such cool clips from old scifi and horror movies and in the back the kitchen is disguised as an old fashion concession stand. Next to your car is a fake intercom. Omg it was just the coolest thing I have EVER seen in my life. I loved it, Todd loved it. We were awestruck. If you haven't been there .. GO THERE!!

We sat in the front of our car and we had a hitchhiking couple in the back who were really sweet.

IMG_2790.jpg

They were the 85th people of our trip to ask us if we were on our honeymoon. They even congratulated us and took a picture of us. Todd and I, getting tired of denying it, began playing along by the 4th day!! Hey, it was fun! Little did they know that I am only 18 and still attend high school!! We thoroughly enjoyed our meals and the amazing ambience -

I ordered -

a vanilla milkshake and a water

The Spinach and Artichoke Dip (omg it was SCRUMPTIOUS!)

IMG_2793.jpg

The Shrimp Penne Pasta (again DELICIOUS!!)

IMG_2796.jpg

And the Warm Apple and Pecan Crisp (which I don't have a picture of unfortunately - I was enjoying myself to much at that point to care!!)

Todd ordered :

A chocolate shake and a coke

The 7 Bean Beef Chili - it was YUMMY I had a few bites (not nearly as yummy as mine though!!)

IMG_2794.jpg

The Reuben

IMG_2795.jpg

and a Hot Fudge Sundae (which I also have no picture of )

We loved Sci FI! We plan on going back EVERY TRIP! It was the coolest restaurant ever and the food was AWESOME!!

By the time our meal was over, we were VERY tired and decided to head back to the hotel. It was about 8:30 when we got back to the hotel and we played in the arcade till about 10:00 and then headed up to our room to go to sleep! It was a GREAT day!

Up Next - Another fun packed and PHOTO packed day at Animal Kingdom ( we hit ALL the things we missed!) , lunch at Pizzafari and Dinner at BOMA!! Thanks for reading!!
