I have decided to give up my Weber charcoal grill for the Weber Genesis S330. I love the taste of food on the charcoal grill but it's too much trouble when you come home from work to use the charcoal grill. Because of the investment in such a nice grill, I want to barbecue more that just hamburgers and hotdogs. Can anyone recommend a really great barbecue book or know where I can find some really great (and hopefully easy) recipes? I will additionally be purchasing the rotissorie.
Thanks!
TC
Is this a propane tank grill? Make sure you buy another tank, you need a spare. That way if it runs out in the middle of grilling, you can hook up the other one.
Not sure about a book though. We just throw it on and grill.
Secret is to keep turning chicken for sure, so it does not burn. Put on, close lib, babysit to make sure not burning, open lid turn, repeat.
Ribs, I do precook in the oven "slow and low" and then finish them off on the grill. Throw on some seasonings if I feel like it then I wrap them in foil tightly & put in the oven for several hours at 225. The reason I do this is because you are using a tank and it is expensive to grill. Once on the grill you can grill them for flavor (about 30mins) and near the end toss on BBQ sauce if you want. You don't have to use sauce.
Pork steaks you keep turning because of all the fat.
Sirloins or other steaks don't take much time at all of course depending on how rare you like them. We do not season those.
Fish. We grill a lot of fish, esp. salmon. Get a "fish basket" for sure if you are a fish griller. You can buy "planks". However you have to soak the planks for 24hrs beforehand and I have yet to use them.
My technique for grilling salmon is to cut the salmon into serving size pieces so they grill evenly.
Good Luck! We miss the charcoal and it has better flavor but it gives DH heartburn.
