Barb D Needs our prayers!

I asked her if I could share this here and she said it was fine.

Her family really needs our prayers right now, her dad was hit by a motorcycle earlier today. He is in ICU at shock trauma. They wont know for a few days if there is any brain damage. He is responsive which is good news and he is in good shape so that helps too.


Please say a quick prayer for them, they have really been through the ringer lately!

Wow! I think that's the first time I ever heard of someone being hit by a motorcyle when they were walking.. I imagine that would cause some serious injuries..

Ok I do have confirmation that he was out jogging when he was hit apparently the man driving the motorcycle is ok he is the one who stopped and called 911. So at least he had help right away.

Barb said that he is confused but alert and feisty.

Just spent a night in the hospital last week with my son who had a BMX bike crash. (At first they were saying bleeding on the brain (blood coming out his ear), but when they drained it, it is luckily just ear damage - lost hearing in the ear due to smashing the bones. Along with stapling the cut in his head and repairing a broken collarbone, he is going to be fine.) So, I'm definitely identifying with them sitting in the hospital waiting for doctors and tests and information. I hope his tests all come back better than expected, as my son's did. Prayers and good thoughts will be going out for all of them! Let us know as you hear hopefully very good news!

Thanks for the prayers. He's still the same...very confused, doesn't know what happened or where he is or why we won't let him out of the bed. Apparently this is normal for someone with his kind of brain injury. It may get better as the brain swelling goes down. For now he pretty much alternates between sleeping and being agitated and upset, and not knowing why. It's very distressing.

We heard that the guy on the motorcycle wasn't injured.
