Bar / Lounge in Epcot?

My wife and I used to go to the lounge in Japan for a quick snack and a few drinks. No reservations where needed and we could usually find a little table to sit at.

We went back there yesterday after not going for a few years, and now the bar is part of the restaurant.

So....does anybody know a good spot in Epcot to chill and have a drink?

Thanks!!!

You can still get to the bar, you just have to put your name down and wait for a bit if it's busy. It's still our main spot for chilling with our friends over tempura and drinks.

Otherwise, we almost always hit the pub in the UK, but unless you get there early, it's very busy.

My hidden secret is the Moroccan pastry shop in the counter service restaurant - they mix up a mean and potent fruity drink (usually about 4oz hard liquor - packs a punch!) and some decent baklava. There is a small back room that's usually quieter.

While not really a "bar", we enjoy getting a Margarita in Mexico and sitting out along the water.

It was still a bar/lounge on Saturday the 17th. They had a menu with sushi and tempura though. We didn't have to wait to be seated.

Hmmm...strange...there was a podium in the middle of the hall and tables and chairs whee the 'lounge' used to be. Maybe they converted it for the holidays.

Don't lounges usually have tables and chairs?

Maybe I don't understand what it used to be like before.

There always have been tables and chairs

kenmcdonald -

I was there this Sunday. I suspect this is just a holiday phenomenon as the two restaurants were quite busy at the time (for lunch!).

We were a bit disappointed since this used to be our little secret (eating sashimi and drinking sake for a good two or three hours in the summer months was not uncommon for us), but we were seated in a couple of minutes.

The lounge is still there.

Yeah, we were there just two weeks ago and we've been going for three years, so I was wondering why it was mentioned there were tables and chairs, when there have been as long as we've been going. :confused3

The putting-your-name-down has been going on since .. last holidays, they instituted it then and haven't stopped, so it's not just during the holidays, unfortunately. They do it all year now.

I second what Forever42 said. They made it an extension of Tempura Kiku several months ago. It used to have a short appetizer menu along with the sushi.
