Is the bar only open when the restaurant is open? Is it mainly for Palo guests waiting for their table or can anyone drop by? Is there usually a wait when you show up at your reservation time? Thanks.

Anyone can use the bar at Palo....you do not need to have a dinner ressie.

Can you eat there too? Same menu? Also, if you sit at the bar for dinner, do you need to still wear a jacket?
Also, I can't remember...how large is the bar (how many people can it seat?)

The bar is not large. And yes..a dress code is a dress code...take a jacket if you want to go to Palo. There is usually not a wait when you go for dinner.

You do not need a jacket. No one will stop you if you do not have one. Don't get upset if you don't, go and enjoy yourself. Just don't show up in rags. :)

You can get drinks and desert at the bar. They won't serve a full meal there.

Hmmmm, interesting. I asked our server, Jean, if it was possible to come up and have a drink at the bar. He told us that you can only use the bar if you are there having dinner. Anyone know???

As far as needing a jacket, the night we were in Palo for dinner, PJ, the maitre 'de, told two young men (they were wearing Hawaiian shirts and Dockers) that they needed to go get jackets, which they did. I thought it was interesting since after we sat down there were other gentlemen in Palo without jacket. Perhaps the Hawaiian print was a little too much? As webray said, there is a dress code. :)

Well I wouldn't go in a Hawiian shirt or T-shirt. A simple polo shirt and Kakis will surfice and nice shoes :) . Thats what I have worn twice.

The guests without jackets were probably officers - who regularly dine in Palo. The jackets may have been hidden from view.Nat:Pinkbounc

They were passengers and definitely not officers -- no jackets in sight.
