banking question, probably stupid

On the dvc website, it says I have 77 2013 points and 160 2014 points. My banking deadline is March 30.
Since my trip in June is 132 points, I will be out of 2013 points. I will be using 55 2014 points. So, I should bank 105 points, right?
I am going to be booking a weekend trip in October in the next couple of days. Should I just book the October trip for 57 points (all from 2014), and then just need to bank 48 points? I'd be using those in April of 2015.

Boy, my head hurts just reading your post.

My guess is that you have an August UY?

Your August 2013 points are good for stays between August 2013 and August 2014, use the points you need and bank the rest before April 2014.

Then look at your vacations between August 2014 and August 2015.

Don't think calendar year, think UY. The points have to be available in your account for the period of your reservation, not when you make the reservation.

Agree! But the OP must have borrowed those 55 points from August 2014 to use them in June 2014.

But the balance of 105 are good from August 1 2014- July 31 2015.

Ok I think I get it. I don't have to bank the 2013 points because they are booked for June. I won't have to bank remaining 2014 points until next March 30 of 2015.

But... if the June trip is already booked, and it still says you have 77 2013 points, you do need to bank them, since your next trip isn't until October - which is in your 2014 Use Year.

Agreed. If you have already booked your June trip then the 77 points are one that you have not committed to be used yet and need to be banked by March 31st or used for another trip prior to Aug 1. The moment you book a trip the points are deducted from your remaining totals so your June trip points are already deducted. If you were to cancel then you would see the points go back into the totals.

And if you haven't booked the June trip yet then you should do so soon!

Good catch to the others. I hadn't read the original as having 77 points left NOW after booking the trip for 132 points. Agree that those 77 points have to be banked if they are to be used from August 1 2014 and onward.
