I've done it (via email).
First of all, I don't email at the last minute - be sure you do it several days ahead of the deadline.
I always state the current status of all my points at the beginning of the email message.
Then I state my banking request.
Then I state the status of my points after the banking is done.
THen I request that the CM confirm my understanding of the points status in the return email that will contain the confirmation number. If I didn't get a return email in 3 or 4 days, I would eithr email again or call.
When I get the return email, I have written confirmation of the transaction and my points status.
I will probably always do my banking this way to have the written confirmation and to let the MS CMs do the work as "filler" when the phones aren't busy. There isn't any urgency to my request as again, I always do it well in advance of the banking deadline.

P.S. FWIW, I only own at one resort and only have one use year (master contract and one add on contract). That probably makes my request a very simple transaction.
