Banking/borrowing privelages

The Member Guidebook states that banking and borrowing privelages may be suspended from time to time in order to maintain balance. Has this ever happened to anyone's knowledge? If this ever happened, many vacation points would become virtually unusable, depending on the member's current situation. I imagine this would only happen in extreme circumstances, but it would be bad for just about everyone if it ever did.

I have never heard of this happening and I can't imagine that it ever will. It would be almost impossible for most people to use their exact amount of points every year with none left over. We only bought half the points we really need per year and plan to go every other year. It seems that resorts would sit empty, and how could that be good for Disney?I know they have the right to do this, but can you imagine the amount of resales that would surface if they tried to??

I think, as others have suggested, that you will see a suspension of banking and borrowing in the last couple of years of the DVC contracts. But before that, I believe it would take some dire circumstances for DVD to suspend the privileges.
