I have question and i know someone here will be able to answer it for me. I have two home resorts akv and blt. I am planning a split stay trip for december 2010. I plan on staying at akv for the first part of the stay since points are cheaper there for the weekend but i want to book the whole 8 day trip there at my 11 month mark in case the reamining nights at blt wont all be available in the room catergory i want. I currently dont have enough points with just my 09 ones so i will have to borrow 2010 points to book all 8 days. If im able to get the room i want at blt for remainder of the stay can i then cancell the extra nights at akv and will my 2010 points go back to there use year or do they become 2009 points now and if i bank them they would expire 9/30/2011 instead of 9/30/2012. Thx for the help.

If you borrow the points, they stay borrowed and you cannot bank those very same points. In the end, you could use the borrowed point from '11 and bank the AKV points of the '10 UY that you originally used for the reservation and THEY could go into your next UY.

Since you have BLT as a home resort, if I were you, I would only book the AKV part first, and wait until 11 months from your BLT check in and then book that part. I doubt that the AKV villa rooms will disappear in the few days. Are you interested in NYE? That may be the only exception to waiting, but I would have to think hard about that.

NO IM INTERESTED IN THE FIRST WEEK DECEMBER WHEN THE POINTS ARE THE CHEAPEST SO I WAS THINKING THE RESORTS WOULD BOOK UP FAST.

I don't think that they will book up that fast. I agree that you should be able to book those first few nights at AKV and then as soon as the 11 month window opens for BLT, call and book the room that you want.

I agree w/ Bobbi- I'd book all the nights you can at AKV WITHOUT borrowing, then on 11 months from desired BLT check in book that.

Once borrowed you can't undo it, so although you could use the borrowed point and perhaps bank the current year's after the fact that can get messy & confusing to manage as well as limit your options for future ressies so I don't think I'd try it.

I think you'll be OK...just book each at the 11 month from check in day.
