banked points that expire soon

i have points that expire feb 29 2016
does my vacation have to end by that date or start by that date
i was looking to book feb 27 2016 to march 05
i keep getting told two different things

You are crossing UYs. You cannot make one reservation that crosses into another UY. MS has to make that reservation.

Banked points must be used PRIOR or BY THE END DATE. So if your points are due to expire on 2/29/16 - you can use them up to the 29th. Meaning your resort reservation must be anytime from now until the 29th.

Just confirming - assuming you have a March use year:

March 1, 2016 (and the rest of a March 2016 stay) cannot be paid with the banked points from 2014. It doesn't matter when you begin your vacation or when you make the reservation. If the banked points are not used to pay for a night 2/29/2015 or earlier, they will expire without value to you.

right - the banked pts from 2014 can only be used for the first 3 nights.

if you have not used them for a stay by the end of feb, they disappear and are gone forever.

Yes, if you borrowed points from your 2016 UY into your 2015 UY for a vacation, and then canceled it, those points are now considered only valid in your 2015 UY and must be used by February 29th, 2016. The banked points also expire that day. When you make your reservation, make sure that they use up all the banked 2014 UY points for those first 3 nights, and then any of the borrowed points as well. Any actual 2015 UY points you still have in your account can then be banked into 2016 UY to be used for the March days of your vacation.

To be clear, your 2015 points can be used for the night of expiration. So, for a February use year, you could use 2015 points with a check-out date of March 1st.

You can bank any leftover current year points. If you borrowed points, just make sure you use those first. Member Services can reallocate points to you reservations to use those first if things get mixed around. You cannot bank points that have already been borrowed.
