I have a few questions about the festivities for this event. Would also love to hear others experience in previous years. I know they were held at both SW & BG in the past.

Concerts start at 4PM, is there a event ticket you need to get in order to "get into" the concert (like the concerts for Just Kids event). Do they allow people to hang out on the berms on the sides of the theater?

Has anyone ever gotten the Brew Sampler package? What are the sizes of these samples?

I am sure I will have more questions as well :rotfl:

Thanks

In years past, you have not needed a ticket to get into the concert. I think this will be the same this year. The concert is not held at the same theater where Just for kids was held (Unless it's raining the day of the concert, then the concert is moved to that indoor theater) The concert takes place at the old ski stadium on the lakefront. You can watch from anywhere in the stadium. They even set up TV's along the pathway so you can view the concert from a live camera feed if you cant get into the stadium. However, the stadium rarely fills to capacity.

Not sure about the brew sampler package. I have never tried it.

I went one year they had Hall and Oates in concert, perfect beautiful day, they still had the all you can eat buffet in the pavillions area and then everyone headed for the Bayside stadium next to the pavillions, great concert and the buffet was amazing, best experience I had at this event.Next year the weather was horrible 45-55 degrees and wet, they still had the buffet but with those temperatures it was 1/10th as busy as the previous year. The concert was also lame as it was some group called YES and it was moved to the Nautilus theater due to the weather, didn't like the concert at all.The last couple of years they stopped the all you can eat buffet which is a bad move and changed it to only food booths with outside companies running them,I think Sea World still runs one. When they had the buffet they still had some booths so in my eyes all they did was remove the buffet and add the beer sampling which I've never done. The concert is still held at Bayside stadium.

I believe the woman there said the beer samples were 3 ounces. It was $25 for 12 samples. You get a card with 25 circles to be punched. You could trade two punches for a bigger sample.

No tickets needed for the concerts but you can buy VIP floor tickets. When we arrived around 1 they already had the stadium open. We watched the concert from the areas with the booths. They had big screen tvs and speaker that were positioned in the water. They also let people sit on the grass next to the stadium.

Thanks, this was great info. Think we may just hang out in the grassy area and chill out.

A couple more questions for anyone who went last week.
1. How early are they opening the stadium for the concerts?
2. How early do you need to be there to get a good seat?

They opened the arena @2PM and around 3:20 they made the announcement that the arena was full to capacity, and unless you were returning to your seats they were not letting you in.

hope it helps.

Thanks but it didn't work that way for the Trace Adkins concert 2 weeks ago. We got there about 11 AM. Decided to walk through the BBQ stand areas to see what was there first and went up to the stadium. People were already waiting to see the concert. We asked and they said they would allow the people to find seats at 12:30. We went on to Wild Arctic and went to the animals through the annual pass door instead of doing the ride. Then headed back to stadium and got our seats just after 12;30. Rather than just sitting there we took turns going out into the park for the 3 hours. We ate our lunches at our seats like about half the early birds. Needless to say we had really good seats for a really good concert.

Hopefully that is the way they will open the stadium for Sara Evans, too. No one was running down the stairs and through the rows to get seats this way.

Now if they could just figure out a way to get cars out of their parking lots and back to I-4 and 528 without the bottleneck-everyman for him self with no one directing traffic out of the gates. There were even SUVs and trucks exiting the lot by driving through the ditch and out on the street without waiting in line to go out the exits. It was absolutely horrible....Took an hour and a half to get to 528. Ugh

We saw the Doobie Brothers this Saturday,we ordered some BBQ around 12:30,were lucky to get a table as they are pretty limited and by 1:30 sat in the theater. We however didn't just stay there until 4pm,I went to get a few rides on Kraken and after I came back I held the seats while the others went to the bathrooms. We also saw at 1:30 when we got there some chairs had nobody in them or in the row for that matter, they however had towels on top basically holding the seats with no one there. The concert was great and lasted almost 2 hours, much longer than I expected. After it finished I also saw the bottleneck exiting the park.I needed to make it to Universal to catch the Mardi Gras parade and Diana Ross concert at 8pm and I was worried if I would make it when I saw the traffic, when I saw 95% of the cars turning left towards International Drive I knew that wasn't the way to go,instead a lightbulb lit up and I turned right on I Drive and took the Central Florida pkwy to Turkey lk rd directly to Universal, after looking at how I-Drive going north looked I think I saved 30-40 minutes in traffic.

Late start yesterday for the Sara Evans concert. She was still at the airport at 4! Her flights were delayed because of the tornadoes the day before. She said it was roughest flight she's ever been on coming down flying over yesterday's storms, too. Concert started about 4;40 and ended at 5:30 so sort of short compared to others this year. Still a very good concert. She is Awesome..

We managed to do 2 shows and Shamu Rocks, ate BBQ for lunch, saw the manta aquarium and did the pass entrance into Wild Arctic. Took our time getting to front of park after last show, sat and and ate ice cream, browsed the gift shop till they started shutting down(almost 8 o'clock), and then went out to an almost empty parking lot and very little traffic still on Sea World Drive. Much less hectic than after the Adkins concert when we left an hour after the concert and before Shamu Rocks got out. We ended up getting out to 528 at the same time. 2 weeks ago we were in parking lot and traffic at 6:30 so this was so much more fun.
