I slept in until about 8:00 a.m. It's always sad to wake up knowing its the last day. I got ready for the day, and while Elsie and Rick got dressed I went to Roaring Forks to get some breakfast to take back to the room. They had sausage and cheese biscuits that sounded good to Rick. Elsie wanted just a cheese biscuit. The cook at Roaring Forks had no problem fulfilling her request.

When I got back to the room, Elsie told me about the Mr. Potato Head pieces at Downtown Disney. She thought it would be cool to bring back to her dorm room.

We packed up and bell services came to take our luggage and we were off. We drove to DD to get Mr. Potato Head. The CM in the store helped us pack the box up full.

From DD, we headed for Epcot and our PS at Chefs du France. Elsie is fluent in French, and spent Spring Break last year in Paris. She was very excited about this lunch. On our way to lunch we stopped and made a few purchases.

Lunch was delicious! For appetizers, Rick and I had Lobster Bisque and Elsie had French Onion Soup. For the entree, Rick had a seafood brochette, I had quiche lorraine and Elsie had a crouque monsieur (grilled ham and cheese sandwich). Dessert was fabulous...Elsie had creme brulee (again!), and Rick and I had pastries with creme. After paying for lunch with our gold plan, we had 2 coupons left. I think we more than got our money's worth, so I'm not worried about it.

We left Epcot and headed for the airport. We drove to curbside checkin and checked our bags before returning the car to Thrifty. We bought gas and checked the car in. It was very busy at Thrifty! The van brought us back to the airport and we got to security. There was a long line! The woman who checked our identification seemed to be doing it very carefully. Eventually we got through security and to the gate.

Elsie tried to check her grades using the Internet kiosk, but they still weren't available. I'm confident that she did just fine. We boarded our flight and headed for Miami.

The plane from Miami to O'Hare was late. This was cause for concern because Elsie was getting picked up at 10 for a trip with school friends to Washington DC. (Could our family please find a destination that wasn't getting special attention due to Code Orange???):( She called the folks she was riding with to let them know of the delay. Thank goodness for cell phones!

Our plane landed in Chicago at 10:00. We were at baggage claim at 10:15. Elsie called her ride again and found out they were still 60 miles away. What a relief! Then we waited for our luggage, and waited, and waited...and waited. Elsie's phone rang, her ride was at the airport, and the carousel was just beginning to move! They drove 60 miles before our luggage made it from the plane to baggage claim!

We found our bags and Elsie's ride and called a cab for ourselves. We finally got home around Midnight and I set my alarm to go back to work on Wednesday.

We had a lot of fun and enjoyed spending time with Elsie. I really miss her when she's at school. We only glimpsed our SaxPlayer in the parade, but we think he had a good time too. They won 1st place for their class at the Gator Bowl competition :teeth:
It was busy and crowded, but we managed to do everything we planned to do. Unless there's another compelling reason, we won't spend Christmas week with Mickey again, but we're glad to have made the trip.

No plans for our next trip, yet...

Sounds like you guys had a great time! And I'm sure your Saxplayer had a good time. I did two of those band trips in high school and I still remember what an awesome time I had.

Thanks for sharing your trip with us.

We should know pretty soon if he had fun. The busses are supposed to get back to school in 2 1/2 hours. They had two bus breakdowns on the way down, so I'm hoping they have better luck today!
