Does anyone know if on the Magic they serve Banana stuffed french toast for breakfast. I know this is a silly question, but we had it at WDW resorts and is sooo Yummy!

Thanks

Nope. Breakfast is really nothing special on the ship. They have the usual stuff, same thing every day.

Flmomof2 - We LOVE that banana-stuffed french toast! :goodvibes We had it about 15 years ago at the Polynesian and still talk about it! Unfortunately they don't really have any specialty items at breakfast on the Magic. It's all pretty much standard breakfast items.

I did see a cookbook with the recipe for the banana-stuffed french toast in the DCL gift shop thou.....

Found this recipe on Dr. Toast's Amazing World of Toast website:

Mmmmmm. Tonga Toast, otherwise known as the Polynesian’s Banana-Stuffed French Toast, is the best meal served at Walt Disney World (in my humble opinion, of course). Try this recipe at home. It’s never quite the same for me, though. Maybe I need some fake Polynesian atmosphere, bird sounds, and a tropical lobby outside to make it complete.

2 or 4 slices sourdough bread, cut 1-inch thick
1 banana
1/3 cup sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 egg
1/4 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Oil or shortening for frying
Whipped butter, if desired
Maple syrup, if desired

Depending on the size of the bread slices, cut a 1-inch pocket in one side of each bread slice. Cut bananas in half crosswise, then split each piece lengthwise. Remove peel and stuff 2 pieces in each pocket of bread, again depending on size. If slices are small, use 4 and stuff 1 piece of banana in each pocket. Set aside.
Mix sugar and cinnamon. Set aside.

Mix egg, milk, and vanilla until well blended.

Heat about 4 inches of oil or shortening in a pan to 350 degrees F. Dip stuffed bread into egg and milk mixture, soaking a few minutes to penetrate into bread. Fry in hot oil or shortening until lightly browned, turning to brown both sides, about 3 minutes. Drain on paper towels on cake rack.

Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon and serve at once. If desired, spread with whipped butter and serve with Maple syrup.

Yield: 2 servings

Palo Brunch had Banana stuffed pancakes. They were amazing!

How did I miss those? :guilty:

I know how. I was already so full from the 'I never miss this at Palo..' dishes in which I usually indulge..

pizza, stollen w/whipped cream, jam and berries, prosciutto, lemon meringue pie, chocolate mousse, etc.

Now, I must try the pancakes..

Breakfast in the regular dining rooms was the one meal I was always disappointed in...there was really no variety and everything was just ok, nothing special....lunch and dinners were good, brunch at palo was awesome...

Oh we had Banana Stuffed French Toast on our June trip. OMG!!! Best I have ever tasted!!! We stayed at CBR prior to our Wonder cruise...Can't wait to go back and have some more!!!! :woohoo:

It is the best thing I have ever tasted but I think it was just a little bit better at the Polynesian Hotel than at CBR. Not sure if it was just because it was made to order so it was just out of the oven. I know you think how can it get any better???? Anywhere you get it at Disney its just the best thing your mouth ever tasted!

Thanks!

Agree - breakfast in the dining room is nothing special - limited menu, never changes. And the service I have had is not the best. Lunch and dinner in the dining rooms I rate as fantastic.

We cruised the Island Princess to Alaska, and the dining room breakfast was fantastic - like a nice hotel. New menu every day, always something unique and special - (not bananna stuffed french toast, but blueberry one day). Excellent service. We were able to have our regular servers, and although it was not reserved seating, they saved the table for us each day.

Wish DCL would take a look at its dining room breakfasts.
