Banana Ride on Castaway Cay

What is the banana ride?? I saw it on a post about making reservations when we board. Is it fun? Good for small kids?

Here is the description of the banana boat ride that they give in the shore excursion booklet:

"Get ready to peel out on a wild ride on a large inflatable boat that looks like a banana! You'll skim the sparkling Caribbean waters for approximately 17 minutes while the banana boat is pulled along by a jet ski."

I might add that this is for 10 people, and that guests must be 8 years and older and be able to swim. If I remember correctly, the cost is $14 per person.

Can't wait to do it again on our next cruise!

It is an absolutely wild ride! Kids and teens love it. Adults love it too, but hang on for dear life! You really get bounced around.

We were the last ride of the day and when they took you out past the ship, a lot of people were on their verandahs looking down and waving, taking pictures. You go pretty close to the ship and out to sea a little bit.

It was fun, but I was relieved when it was over! LOL! (I'm a 41 year old woman, so you get the picture)

Prepare for the ride of your life! (excluding rock'n'roller coaster at MGM of course!) Me, my hubby & 11yr old twins did this ride with another grown-up family of 4. I sat at the front on the right & quickly became the main source of entertainment for the rest of the party! I seemed to bounce twice as high & twice as often as everyone else? Half way thru I had to change places as I couldn't breathe for laughing!! I would certainly do it again but perhaps wear something more grippy?? Have fun!
