I've been making Banana Nut Bread at Christmas with Christmas cookies for years. I'd like to spice it up this year and add a glaze to the bread. I have no idea what would taste good on banana nut bread. Any suggestions/recipes? Thanks!

What about just drizzling some melted chocaolate chips on it, sounds good to me.

Okay I read the thread and closed it originally, cause banana bread is perfect without glaze, but the more I thought about it...

How about a cream cheese glaze like in carrot cake, just thinner so you can drizzle? The spices in banana bread and cream cheese should go together well.

PS I love banana bread with the mini chocolate chips mixed in!

I feel the same way, but it just looks so... boring, especially at Christmas when things look more "elegant", I guess.

How about festive pans? Or making muffins with christmas tins? Or just tie a bow around it?

Now I have to wait for my bananas to get overripe .. :surfweb:

I almost closed this too. I love banana bread. I realized that I usually put butter on it, so maybe a buttercream would be good?

See above! :rotfl:

I've done just a simple powdered sugar/water glaze over mine before. Nothing fancy just very simple and adds just a touch of sweetness.

I make an Anna Banana Cake and the recipe calls for a brown sugar/butter glaze. YUMMMMMMMM

Chocolate! I would love a thin chocolate glaze on banana bread.. Yum!! :thumbsup2

I would love to see people's recipe for banana bread (please?!?). My sister use to make it for me.

and please discontinue adding nuts to your bread, it ruins the taste.
