I'm utterly baffled!

You guys may have read my thread further down ('A Disneyland Proposal), and my intention to book the Disneyland Hotel, two adults, three nights, end of next October 2014.

Well I've been checking back on the official site and partner sites daily in an attempt to get an 'early bird' deal as soon as it was announced. The official site was just saying there was no availability and Disneylandparisdirect was quoting three nights as £1,956.

I rang DLP directly this morning and (after being on hold for 25 minutes), was first told the DLH was SOLD OUT! I know the DLH is popular, but 2000+ rooms sold out 17 months in advance?!? I was then put on hold further, before the operator told me that 'behind the scenes' they could offer me the room for £2,798, and that this included a 'free night'.

Now I knew something was bizarre, I've heard prices be beaten by the odd £20 here and there, but not £800! So I rang DLPDirect who then told me that their prices are merely an estimate and the hotel was infact sold out?!?

So I'm in a bit of a bind, do I bite the bullet and shell out the £2,798 and have the security of having the booking in place? Or wait it out for a little while and see if more rooms do come available on the Official site?!

I know it's Halloween season, AND the UK half-term, but was hoping for something a bit cheaper than £2.7K. They're advertising the same package for £1,284 just a month before......?!

There's no way the DLH is sold out that far in advance, I expect it's just a glitch in their system. There's still availability for October 2013 so you should have no problem getting a room for next year. You might just have to wait a while for the prices to come out.

Also now had an email telling me that DLH is 'unavailable' on my chosen dates?!? Anyone know whats going on?

I agree, absolutely no way the hotel is sold out for 2014. I'll bet you one of my kids ;)

The official prices won't be out yet, and won't come out until the next lot of brochures are done - into early next year I would think.

We have booked late lots of times and always got availability. Some winter offers have just been announced for this winter, so don't worry - there's plenty of time to book :)

I agree I can't see the DLH veiny sold out. It's probably because they dont know how many they will allocate to travel agents etc to sell.

Also just a heads up the DLH has under 500 rooms not 2000

Not sure where I got the 2000 from?! :headache:

Hoping you're all right guys, the thing that gets me is that this info is coming from official DLP sources, you would have thought they'd just say "wait a little longer until the rooms are available".....unless of course they really do want to bleed every last penny out of every individual....!

Something that IS encouraging however is they have NO availability for the DLH from October 2nd 2014 onwards, so hoping they'll come on soon?

Unless they're gonna close the whole gaff down?!? :rotfl:

You can do a dummy booking from up to 7 nights from last day of September which shows availability for the first week of October. I'm with the others that it's either a case of there being a glitch in the system or else they haven't loaded the prices into it yet.

And yes, it will cost more in October, especially the last week because of Halloween and UK half-term, but you don't want to be booking anything with them without knowing what the offer is. I wouldn't pay rack rate which is what they must have been quoting you. If I were you I'd be waiting until next year to see what the offers are then. I understand you want to get it booked (I always like to be booked myself!) but honestly you can leave it until nearer the time.
