Bambi Parody from SNL

I saw the sketch on SNL. I have to say, the parts about "Song of the South" were pretty funny . . . I've always found it hilarious that Disney embraces "Zip-a-dee-doo-da" and the Splash Mountain theming even as it shuns "Song of the South" (Probably for good reason!) and no one ever even mentions it . . .

Anyway, I'm sure some might have been offended, but had some good laughs.

I just think Smigel is brave -- I'm sure Disney lawyers will NOT approve! I'm an attorney, and it looked like fair use parody to me, but no idea whether that will make a difference . . .

Does anyone remember the short (highly unauthorized) film "Bambi Meets Godzilla" from the 1960s? It did the rounds of college film festivals to much hilarity.

As I recall, it started with an absolutely interminable opening credits roll. Finally the last name faded from the screen and an adorable faun with swooshy eyelashes stepped into a forest clearing. Immediately a great hairy foot slammed down from the sky and SQUASHED the faun! Then the closing credits began to roll, and roll, and roll...

I saw this, if I remember correctly, it was part of an Animation film that was compiled from various award winning shorts. May have been from the mid-1970's, I will poke around and see if I can locate it.

Did you actually get this to play? I get a perpetual "loading" sign...and I'm on high speed....

:confused3

It will load eventually, You Tube is just awful for videos. Their servers are very slow sometimes, and then fast other times.

It's on the Hardware wars compilation along with close encounters of the Nerd kind, Hardware wars and pork lips now.

The link appears to be to a SNL-Disney parody that originally ran in 2002, which was different than the hilarious one that ran this past Saturday.

Hannah's Dad is right -- I misunderstood. I thought that we were talking about last week's episode, which you can find by just Googling "TV Funhouse" and Disney.
