BOTS!
Hey guys...OW, I hurt today. I suppose that's what happens when you don't train for a marathon then try to run one.
Bruce & I arrived Sat. a.m, dumped our stuff @ our hotel & headed to the expo on one of the provided buses. We got our stuff quickly, & poked around the merchandise...everything is pretty much sold out by Sat. afternoon...no hoodys left, no MUGS (sorry
Colleen) & weird sizes. We got to see Ryan Hall (see my photo of he & I on FB

) We met Lou for a beer after we saw a play that I had gotten tix for BEFORE I knew we were running. It was nice until they kicked us out b/c we weren't buying food or more drinks

.
Bruce & I ate around 6:30 then headed back to the hotel to get ready. I was miserable...not sure why, but during dinner, all I wanted to do was go home...weird....I get like that sometimes....the whole event & being away from home gives me a lot of anxiety at times. Time for meds, no doubt

.
The race was great!
Bruce couldn't believe the people, the crowds, etc. Truly the best marathon & I echo
Lou's sentiment, that if you haven't run this, you should. We stuck together the entire race, which was a bit stressful toward the end as it seemed to get more crowded...yes, there was some swearing involved on my behalf.
Bruce's, too!! Truly a match made in heaven, we are...

I mean, really? You just STOP running in the middle of the road?? Pull off to the side, no?
Bruce started to s***-the-bed around mile 20, so he says. I didn't notice until around mile 24, when I almost had to stop & wait for him. He was hurtin'. The bone on top of his big toe was hurting bad...all swollen today

. I felt pretty strong all the way to the end, which I'm happy about. But I'm more happy that neither one of our feet snapped in two.
Wish we could've run faster, but probably couldn't have anyway even if we had the chance,

.
We're both suffering today b/c our lack of training, but I'm sure he'll bounce quicker than I. My feet feel fine, though, just the quads, & the usual stuff that are pissed. Awesome time all told. The finish line drudgery is pretty heinous, though, just like
Lou said.
Bruce totally seized up & started shivering big time from the cold. We jumped on a bus back toward the hotel, took a hot shower & were on the 5:34 train.
Thank you again, guys, for donating to my favorite charity. I promise to not bug you for a while

.
Chester - I didn't know you were a boat guy...I don't have a fancy bike or fancy anything,

. I believe the triathlon is on May 8th...Mother's Day? What were people riding last year....like rental bikes? If I could use your bike (or anyone you know) I would be completely in your debt. However, will you be in "the World" that weekend? I don't want you making a special trip. I can always go to Target & get a $70 bike then donate it afterward...it's not like I'm riding fast anyway...I suck @ bike riding

BTW, they say the tri is @ Ft. Wilderness...does that mean the swim part is in the lake with the alligators in it?
