Baltimore BOT-Fest

Lou: sorry to hear about your friend, I hope things turn out ok. The bike tour of NYC sounds awesome.

Sorry I haven't posted much lately on here, FB is just easier and life has been crazy. We have been celebrating tons of birthdays for kids of our friends and our own DD. I have lost 2 grandparents in the past 2 weeks from opposite sides of the family so there has been a fair bit of family visits and tons of walks through memory lane. We have finally made it to CA and are ready for some much need vacation and positive family time. I am sort of trained for the DL half, so we'll see how that goes...

Jenn~ So sorry to hear about your recent losses. That must be tough with everything else going on. Best of luck with the DL Half. I hope to run it again next year and get my first Coast-to-Coast medal. Have fun!

Lou~ Still thinking about your friend. I hope everything turns out as good as possible for him and your business. The bike tour of NYC sounds fun. I'd be up for that.

As for MCM, I am looking forward to seeing all of you there (trained or not!). I went out for a little (inadequate) run last night:

Miles: 5.0
Time: 43:51
Pace: 8:46

I have not been having many right knee problems so that is at least favorable. I am gearing up for the Phila Rock & Roll Half in a few weeks quickly followed by the Ridgefield Half.

I think I'm going to add a local 15K the Delaware Distance Classic 15k on October 10th. I've run it 2 or 3 times in the past and I enjoy the race. Lou~ Come down and join me!

As for sitting back and sipping a brew in Arlington, I'm with you all! :thumbsup2

This past weekend I was in Pittsburgh for my baby sister Amanda's wedding. This coming weekend we are going up to Poughquag, NY for a wedding reception. Cam's cousin was married this past weekend and his reception will be held there this weekend. It looks almost due west of Hartford, CT, but in New York State close to the sprawling metropolis of Pawling, NY. :rolleyes1

Have a good one!

Good news on my friend. She was scheduled to have a biopsy on Friday and they cancelled because the spot shrunk. Apparently it is not a tumor which is great news. They still need to find out what it is but its a lot better. She actually came back to work yesterday.

Ohhhh, that's terrific news, Lou! Thank friggin' goodness!!

Lou: Great news about your friend. Horrible that they put her thru the stress of thinking it was a brain tumor. Your mini vacation sounded nice. Glad you enjoyed.

Jodi: Hello. How is your foot doing?

Howard: Glad the knee has been cooperating. Enjoy the trip to NY state.

Jen: Hope you are having a great time in DL. Sorry for your recent losses.

Judy: Hope your foot is feeling better. Good going keeping up with your training plan.

Dave: Hello. I'm glad your daughter is getting into the 5K training. I'm trying to get my DS to train for a 1 mile fun run later this month, but haven't been successful. He runs plenty playing soccer, so I'm sure he'll do fine, but I wish he would train a little.

Colleen: I like Bots on Bikes.

Sara: Hope all is well.

Cindy: Have you been running? Is your work keeping you busy?

Matt: Hope you are doing well.

Chester: Hello.

My running has been so-so. I've missed a few runs since my son's summer camps have ended but school doesn't start till next week so he's been home with me on my days off. I should try to get him out on his bike with me, but we've been busy with the back-to-school shopping and end of summer fun stuff. I'm going to try to get out today during lunch, but it's stinking hot around here again.

The weight loss challenge I joined has motivated me to lose 5 lbs so far, so that will help in improving my running once I get back to it regularly.

Have a great day Bots.
Cindy

I think we have one, in D.C. somewhere. ;)

Two actually! :lmao:

Lou~ Great news about your friend. I hope she gets the treatment she needs to clear this thing up and end all the worry and stress.

Jen~ I hope you are having a great time in DL!!! Good luck with the race this weekend! Tell all of the other WISHers I said hello!

Mike~ Great job on your 10 miler!

Jodi~ :flower3:

I'm missing several BOTS that haven't been here in a while: Sara, Chester, Cindy and Matt. Please check in if you are lurking.

Colleen~ Hi!

CindyLouBQ~ Great job on the weight loss! :cheer2: I've given up diet soda and cookies until after MCM. I am making better choices when dining too. I have a ways to go to get ready for MCM but one thing is sure, I don't want to carry around any extra weight if I can help it.

Have a great day everyone!

:charac2: popcorn::

Wow... sad. 5 Days with no posts? What's up with that? :rolleyes1

I hope everyone is alive and well.

Jen~ I hope you enjoyed your DL run and visit to Anaheim. I can't wait for your trip/race report.

Jodi~ How's the foot? Running lately? Have any brews this past weekend?

Hi to everyone else!

I felt the need to get some double digit miles in yesterday and took advantage of the day off.

Miles:13.0
Time: 2:07:36
Pace: 9:49

My pace for the first 10 miles was probably in the 8:45 to 9:00 range, but then the wheels kind of fell off. I did take Cliff Blocks and had those out on the run. However, I ran out of Powerade, etc. I stopped at a Shell station to fill my water bottle which helped.

Hope your short week is a good one!

Hope everyone had a great long weekend!

I finally put some steps in today. Actually double digits...10 miles...which is the first double digit run in my MCM "training"...bah hah ahahh

I will try a 13 miler in about 10 days and see how the I feel. So, are we doing this marathon or not??

WOW, impressive...a 10 miler???:scared1:. I was gonna run a 1/2 marathon Sat., but not sure. I hate running in my sneakers (did 4 in them this a.m.). I dunno...ARE we doing this marathon? I've got until the 29th to get rid of my bib, right? :rolleyes1

Hello Bots :surfweb:

I'm back from CA after a really nice trip. With all of the family stress going on we really needed the break. I'm a bit jet lagged but feel much better than when I left. The DL half was lots of fun. I decided to do it as a fun training run and not worry about my time. Fellow WISHer Corinna ran with me and we had a blast. We stopped for tons of pictures and generally did not push it too hard. I was pretty pleased that despite taking it slow I was still faster than last year-- definite progress. I'm curious to see how I can do at ING without a week of theme parking beforehand.

I hope everyone is having a good back to school week. I've got to do some actual work now...

Jen, glad you were able to have some fun family time!

Your facebook pics were great!

Chester: Hello.

Cindy
You called me out! It's been almost a month since I last checked in. I've enjoyed your Facebook vacation and back-to-school pictures.

My work load is slowing down to a trickle and my training has been almost non existent. Training for Goofy #4 started yesterday and I've made it to the gym 2 days in a row now. Now all I have to do is loose about 15 pounds and gain about 2 minutes per mile!

I'm looking forward to the Wine and Dine Half in a month. Chet is going to run it with me.

Chester

Crazy question but would you BOTs be up for a fantasy football league?

I really don't do fantasy football much but my son is hounding me to set up a league. I was thinking if I could round up a few BOTs I could make a league. I could set one up on Yahoo for free and all you really need to do is sign up. Let me know.

Lou

P.s. - Can't find time to run much lately but squeezed in 4.5 miles today.
