Baltimore BOT-Fest

Sara: :grouphug::grouphug::grouphug::grouphug::grouphug: feel better soon

Colleen: thanks for the update

Had a pretty mellow day here. The kitten is settling in and now will tolerate the dog being generally near her-- slow progress. DD loves the kitty but is exhausted because the kitten is in her room at night and she is "too tempted" to stay up and play.

Sara - :grouphug::grouphug:

So what's doin' on the other boards? popcorn:: :surfweb:. Did the BOTS (you) mess up?
Jodi - I like to peak around on the other threads from time time to see what's up with other folks outside our little cacoon. All WISHers near and far love you from what I can tell ;). Feel better soon.

Colleen - Enjoy the snow. Funny, but Hilton Head and Canada are on our potential summer destinations as well.

Cindy - I'm pretty darn impressed by both you and Matt. I didn't even consider going out to run today.

Jen - Happy Birthday! Don't worry about relay pace. Like Jodi said, she can make up any time if needed.

I did MCM for the last 2 years, awesome race. They actually have a whole series of races, but most of them are down in Quantico, which is a little less convenient. This year at Disney's Expo they had early registration codes :). So I'll be there on Halloween. Also signed up for Disney next year, anyone know any good spring races?

Howard - I just signed up for Caesar Rodney. Although I dread this course I always like the race. Best post-race food of any race...pizza.

Lou~ I think that's awesome! :banana: I'm glad you signed up before the entry fee went up too. I will do everything in my power to be ready for this one. I will make sure not to stress fracture my foot the Wednesday prior also.

I do have some bad news, I won't be there to see you at 4 or 5 spots along the course. The good news is that we should have the use of Cam's warm office and first class potty facilities before (and after) the race if needed. :thumbsup2 We need to get some other BOTS signed up for this race, maybe next year. :rolleyes1

Sara :grouphug::grouphug::grouphug::grouphug::grouphug::grouphug:

Good morning, BOTs! Please pardon the intrusion: I am here with a friendly invitation:

In spite of this weeks' question being all about ice cream, things are already starting to warm up at the W.I.S.H.-Wide Monday Mixer!

What is the Best Ice Cream Treat on WDW Property? Include a picture or a story, if you have one!

Come and join us - it's lots of fun! (plus, I'm about to bust out the beverages!) See you at the Mixer!

Sara - :grouphug: Not sure if you're lurking but wanted to let you know you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Howard - I do enjoy this race, despite the tough course. It's actually the fastest first mile of any race I ever ran. Looking forward to hanging out with you and Cam before and after the race. Cam's office was clutch last year. This race always seems to be cold so it's nice to have a place to thaw out. Bots, consider running Caesar. It's a well organized race, not too crowded, and has a great post-race spread. Wilmington train station is only a few blocks from the finish for those out of towners.

Sara :hug:wanted me to update you all on her surgery. There were complications with the procedure, so yesterday evening, they decided to put a trach in to help her breathe. She will be in the hospital until Tuesday. Please send prayers, positive thoughts, etc. to our dear friend.:grouphug:

Also wanted to add, she assured me she is OK!

We love you girl!:love:

Sara, just wanted you to know my thoughts are with you. I hope your recovery goes smoothly from here on out! :hug:

Howard - At the gym?popcorn::

Jodi~ I wasn't at the gym over the weekend. I took it easy, hung out with Cam and the family. I should have gone to the gym, but no dice. The snow on Saturday wasn't much fun to drive in either.

I went to the YMCA tonight:

Expresso Bike: 3.37 Miles in 11:58, 16.9 Avg. MPH/22.1 MPH Max

Elliptical: 3.10 Miles in 22:07, Avg. Pace: 7:07, AVG Speed: 8.42 MPH

I lifted some weights also... all good stuff. :thumbsup2 A little knee discomfort after the work out, but nothing major. I was able to really push it on the elliptical and the bike with little or no pain.

My previous workout:
Expresso Bike: 3.37 Miles in 12:26
Elliptical: 3.1 Miles in 24:05

Colleen~ Thanks for your note on FB and for keeping us up to date on Sara.

Sara~ You are in our prayers. Hope your getting better every hour. :grouphug::grouphug::grouphug:

Lou~ The first mile of the Caesar Rodney Race used to be the first for the DE Marathon (before they moved it to the riverfront). When I ran it (my first marathon), my first mile was sub 8. That somehow plays into me hitting the wall at mile 12 during my first marathon. :rolleyes1 The half course is tough. I've only ran this race once with a time of 1:59:37.

Hi to all of my BOT friends! :hug:

Sara - Sending more good wishes and prayers. :grouphug:

Colleen - Thanks for the update.

Hello Bots, sorry to be away so long. Been very busy with family stuff. It's official, all three of my children have successfully survived another year under my care. There were many birthday parties over the past 2 weeks. Now that is over, I'm hoping things settle down a bit.

Sara: Hope all is going well. I am praying for you.

Colleen: Hope you have dug out of all the snow. Really don't know what's going on in the south this year. Did someone down there make Mother Nature mad? Enjoy your vacation planning.

Howard: Good job getting to the gym and even better job following Dr's orders and not running yet.

Dave: Congrats on the free trip to Disney. Enjoy!!

Jodi: Neither of those 2 halfs will work out for me this year. There's a new one in Boston on 6/27 that I'm thinking of doing. I am also signed up to do the Ragnar Relay- New England from New Haven to Boston. My DH's cousin's friend from college put together a team and needed one more body. I'm excited about doing it, but a bit nervous too. I'll take notes about all the planning/logistics of it to help when the Bots figure out which one to do. Hope your cold is improving.

Mike: Hope the achilles is feeling better. I like the ostrich approach. I usually try that for a while too.

Jen: Glad to hear the kitten is settling in.

Matt: Good job running 10 in the snow. Not easy. I plan to continue my running 3 days a week up until Boston. I'm afraid to change anything up too much. I'm making a bit of a change in that I'm trying to do my LR's on hillier courses, but with everything else I'm planning to do the same.

Cindy: Glad to hear your knee is better with the strap. Good job for getting outside for a run.

Lou: Glad the new gym is working out.

Chester: I hope week one of your unemployment is going OK.

My stomach is still giving me problems. I have an appt. with a GI tomorrow. I hope it all gets straightened out soon. I can only eat non-stop for so long before dire consequences set in. I'll be 300 lbs by June at this rate.

My running is going OK. I'm in week 2 of my training plan. I had to skip a speed workout last week because of being so busy, but I got the other 2 runs in. I'm 1 for 1 this week so far. I've felt kind of slow out there, but have been able to do the mileage. The extra poundage is probably contributing to that.

Have a great day Bots.
Cindy

Hey Bots,

Just heard from Sara,:hug: they decided to keep her in the hospital for at least one more day. She will post when she gets her strength up.

Thank you all for praying for her.:grouphug:

Colleen~ Thanks for the update. :flower3: I know Sara knows we love her and are praying for her. Glad there is a homecoming for her sometime soon.

I made it to the gym again tonight. It feels good to exert some energy once in a while. The knee is doing better. Not 100% yet, but pretty close. Only 16 more days of no running.

Mike~ Awesome run you logged. Who are you trying to impress? Jodi? I think it'll take more than just a pretty face, some tight fitting jammies and some fancy foot work pal. :rolleyes:

Hi to all! Yes, that means you too Jodi!:rolleyes1

Glad you heard from Sara. Thanks so much for updating us Colleen.

Colleen - Thanks for the update.

Sara - Glad to hear you will be home soon. Continued prayers will go your way. :grouphug:

Mike - What was up with that run? Was a dog chasing you? Nice job!

Dave - Enjoyed the GKTW blog. Although I don't know. A week in Florida with a bunch of college girls. That sounds like a MTV show in the making.

Not much running to report. I went through 1-1/2 hours of dental surgery yesterday which put a damper on my mood. Motrin and wine got me through last night.

Lou

Thanks for the update, Colleen. Looking forward to hearing from you soon, Sara! :grouphug: Thinking of you!! :grouphug:
