Hi everyone - just in the planning stages for the moment. We are planning to leave WDW on Mon 12/18 and planning (hoping!) to check in to RPR. We would stay Mon/Tues/check out Wed 12/20 (before holiday rates kick in).

Tentative:
Monday: resort and pool and maybe go to City Walk
Tues/Wed Vist parks
From what I have learned from all of you, FOTL is still in effect on check out day (right?)

It'll be me/DH/DS17/DD15 (no "kids" specials). I think what is making my head spin is all the discount options out there, like AAA, Lowes First, APH, etc etc. - It seems that the Universal website is not the most user friendly place for checking options, unless I'm not doing something correctly.

It really seems that the website is pushing for 3 and 4 night stays (?). I wish I could figure out some way to determine what the best price might be. I think we'll be doing the "bring a cooler and food" thing and eating more in our room than out.

We could stay another night, if it actually ended up costing less somehow as part of a special. We are flexible as we are going to visit family in FL for a few days after US/IOA, before heading home to ohio.

(sorry this is kind of a long post! And, as always TIA !! :wave2:

With an APH rate during the week, the past rates have been in the $129-$139 range. That is the time frame that I usually go. Yes, the FOTL is good on the day you check out. I am not sure what the rate is for non AP something like $189 maybe?? I know not last year but the year before, they offerd stay 3 get 4th free on top of the APH rate then they even threw in free parking at the resort! They didn't have that promo this year.

Cool, thanks! - couple more questions (please!)? does the 2 day 2 park (for the rest of the family) include city walk?

On the AP - - is the Power Pass enough? does that include city walk admission? Seems like it would be, and it is $119 (the preferred is $179).

I don't have AAA membership or Lowes discount, would that add further discount(s), (besides a beer or cookie left in the room?) :woohoo:

Or, is AP about the best thing to secure? Thanks.
mary (the newbie)

The Power Pass does not include any discounts. The AP is the one you would need to get the special rates, among other perks. AP holders get a discount on Party Passes for City Walk Club cover fess (admission to City Walk in general is free). Sometimes, they will have specials where AP holders will get other discounts during the year as well.
