Hi guys

I am hoping to book a studio at OKW for next year. We have never visited it before. My DH and I would like to relax on the balcony in the evenings. Can you recommend a view type to request to have a nicely lit view.

I guess I am better to state a type rather than a number?
Any of you had pleasant evening views?

Many thanks

We've stayed at OKW quite a few times and really never requested anything except top floor

this is a bldg config. - tell you what type unit is were

and this is a map of OKW

We have stayed AT Millers Pond bldg 18
Turtle pond bldg 37
and
Southpoint bldg 53 and 54

all IMHO nice views

BUT ask for a top floor because most of the A/C units sit outside some of the studios patio/balcony and can be loud when on your balcony/patio.

OKW is beautiful peaceful with a charm not found in many resorts

YOU WILL ENJOY YOUR STAY!

I agree that top floors are best. For the best view even from a studio (and some studios are view challenged), I'd ask for buildings 45, 46, and 55. One of the issues with 56 is that you COULD get the studio on the end nearest the road, and that will include those pesky Disney buses with the squeeky brakes, so I didn't include that one in the list!

Thank you very much for your responses. I really appreciate them.

This will be my first time staying onsite and I am very excited!!

Best wishes.

And the buildings with the worst views (IMO) are 27, 28 and 29. Most studios are on the ends of the buildings, so they all have so-so views, nothing awful, nothing to brag about, with the exception of bldgs 45, 46 and 55 that have a lovely canal view.

There are a few studios in the corners of the "U" shaped buildings, and they tend to have a little better view than the studios on the "ends" of the buildings.

But, overall, one studio is pretty much like any other at OKW.

Do you think, in that case, that I should try to just request "a view" rather than specify pool etc? Might I have more chance? Or if they are all much of a muchness should I just take what I get?

Thanks so much for your help!

I usually request a water view and have always been happy. My favorites are buildings 37 & 43. I did get building 28 once and it was a bad view, it's on a fairway and was covered in trees. The room was very dark.

I would just request water view or golf view rather than trying to list specific rooms. There are actually very few buildings with poor views. I would request an upper floor since some of the gorund level views have become pretty heavily landscaped over the past 18 years.

Enjoy your stay! :)

I appreciate all the advice. I was actually going to ask for a low floor but I now see why a higher floor would have a better potential view. Fingers crossed!

Very best wishes!

OKW is great and you will love it. We are going back Oct. 2010. It is a peaceful, relaxing and very fun resort. The view is mainly of the water and trees\grass and other buildings. The slide into the pool is awesome! Have fun! :thumbsup2

Yasuern- I am sure you all are excited also as I read your signature that you all leave in 4 days.

We had the best view this past may, we were in a GV in Millers Road, Great view of the island green at the golf course

Trying not to hijack the thread but.....

We are 2 mid-50's booked for OKW studio 9-10/9-13 short weekend trip. Our only true desire is to be close to a Hot Tub.

I read the above points about getting a High Room, Any suggestions about the HotTub?

It the best hot tub that I have ever been in. It is big, it has the blue tile on the inner side of it and the bench height is perfect. It is secluded as there is lanscape around it. Have fun and enjoy!

There is a hot tub located at each of the pools, so no villas are far from a hot tub.

Have a great stay! :)
