In looking at the room layouts, it appears that the 1 BRs have separate balconies off the LR and MB. Previously we've only stayed in the 1 BR at OKW, where there is 1 large balcony that yo can access from either the master bedroom or LR. If I understand this correctly, does this mean that if DS goes out onto the balcony from the LR (at BWV) and I go out on the balcony from the MB, we're on 2 separate balconies? I'm trying to understand this. Are there any exceptions to the way I understand this or is this the way it is in all the 1 BR (we have a BW View, if that matters)?

Yes you are correct. Most of the one bedroom balconies are two separate, but there are some one bedrooms that have one long one that extends from LR to BDR. You can request it though.

DeeCee735 is right that it could be either or like our last 1 bdr in January only the living room had a balcony. There was just a window in the bedroom and might I say it was dissappointing. It was a standard view fairly close to the elevators on the 4th floor. That is one reason I asked to be further away for our next 1 bdr in April.

We've had both. When we had a Boardwalk view our first time there were two separate smaller balconies. When we had a standard view two other times we had one larger balcony you could get to from either.

After staying several times I think it also has something to do with the floor you are on. It might be just coincidence, but when we were on the 2nd floor, just above the Screen Door Mercantile we had a huge balcony extending the length and accessible from the LR and the BR. When we have been on higher floors it seems like the balconies got smaller and/or there were separate balconies for the LR and BR. Maybe something to do with the perspective trip they try and perform with WDW buildings - Making them seem taller by getting items smaller near the top?

I hate to blow your theory, but both times I stayed at BWV in a one bedroom I was on the 4th floor--and both times I had the big balcony that spanned from the bedroom to the LR. The first time was a standard view opposite the busstop (room 4117) and just recently it was preferred view overlooking the quiet pool, just above the bbq (room 4095).

We only had one balcony, off the livingroom, when we stayed there, last year. Just a window in the bedroom.

I've stayed at BWV in a 1 bedroom 5 times. All 5 times it was a dedicated 1 BR and all 5 times we had the long balcony that stretched from the living room to the bedroom. Is there a pattern between dedicated and lockoff? All were 3rd or 4th floor. Some were the open variety and some were the enclosed.

We stayed in a 2nd floor room once, right about the gallery. Our balcony was larger than the room was. You could hold a large party out there!

I really think it depends on where you are, which section, what is in that area, for what kind of balcony you get.

We were in a dedicated 1 br on the 1st floor, main pool view and had two separate "balconies". (Really just a walkout slab on the ground.)

Can someone please explain what "dedicated" one or two bedrooms are? Thank you.

The BWV has a few dedicated 1 bdrs but no dedicated 2 bdrs. A dedicated 1 bdr would not have a connecting door to a studio to make it a 2 bdr. We have had one once and it was great as it had another window in place of the connecting door. If they had dedicated 2 bdrs, like at OKW, it is the same no connecting doors.
