Do you do a lot of baking cookies and cakes? I usually bake choc. Chip cookies once a month and maybe a box mix cake once a month too. My family would like me to bake more often, maybe I will.

I'd love to but in my household it would just all go to waste (or I'd eat it myself and we CAN'T have that :littleangel:). Neither my DH and DS are big on sweets and if they do have a hankering they both prefer a chocolate bar to anything home made. It actually makes me sad a little.

I do quite a lot of baking. Partly because I am vegan so if I want baked goods I have to make them myself. I make muffins usually every week (my DH and kids take them for lunch). I make a couple desserts each week a well. Usually they are fruit based like pies, apple crisp, cobblers ect. but sometimes I make cookies, cakes, squares ect.

I LOVE to bake but I just can't because I eat it. We have had a lot of stress lately and baking is a good release for me so my nephew has been receiving a lot of goodies from his auntie!

I love to bake and since it is just me at home I usually always take my baked goods into work. I actually got yelled at today because I haven't baked in several weeks. One of my co-workers wants to tell my boss to add in "baking" as part of my job responsibility.

I used to. Cookies, pies, cakes, squares. Our family has always had a sweet tooth. Now that the kids are grown and gone I rarely do. We could never eat a whole cake or pie (just the two of us). So now I only bake when we have the family or other guests over for a meal. But I still go nuts baking at Christmas. I'll have sweets in the freezer till at least Easter.

I used to bake more when the kids were home, but now that we're empty nesters I try not to bake as often. Unless we have company coming for dinner, which is about once a month.

and over the holly daze I make way too many sweets.

I used to bake quite a bit when the kids were little, but now I just do so for holidays, church coffee hour and fundraisers. To save money, I used to mix up cookie dough from scratch on Sunday nights and bake cookies each morning to put in the kids' lunchboxes. Their classmates envied them for their homemade cookies...they envied their classmates for their Oreos.

not as much anymore. I still bake DS some goodie almost every week since he is gluten free now.

I used to bake cookies for DH's work place once a week. Did it for 9 years.....and very seldom did the same recipe twice

love to bake...and have twin 12 year old boys who love to eat, helps! I usually will make muffins at least once a week, pumpkin, blueberry, chocolate chips, banana nut, carrot (like carrot cake). I wish I could bake great homemade choc chip cookies but they only come out "alright". I do make peanut butter cookies, making those this week as my parents are coming to visit and I love oatmeal cookies with raisins and pecans. I will make pound cake, yumm! once a month too to serve with strawberries, whipped cream and ice cream.

For a quick dessert, I will make a box cake mix or a cobbler with canned fruit.

The only advice I can give about making choc chip cookies is to make the Toll House recipe on the Nestle chips bag. Watch the baking time closely as the recipe says 9-11 minutes. I don't wait until they are brown on top. I've never made muffins or pound cake. Sounds yummy!

I try to bake once a week or more. I love making things like muffins, bc they're super easy to make, and great for snacks and breakfast. I'm trying to bake more snacks lately bc it's cheaper than buying some snacks. Tonight I made peanut butter and oatmeal cookies with carob. They're delicious!

I like making pies and cakes too, bug I usually save that for special events.

When I am healthy I bake once a week. When I am very sick with a cold I don't make at all. When I am bored I bake. Often we will find ourselves with 15 plus dozen cookies over April break. Mainly due to my boredom and love of baking.

I use to make cakes and pies but my family of 3 can't eat them fast enough so lots would go to waste. At least with cookies you can freeze them.

I never bake unless its for something at work, or for a bday. My poor family. Whenever I make something, they ask in desperation, "Do we get ANY?" We're all trying to eat healthy, and if I make a whole batch of something just for the 4 of us, we either gorge on it or it goes to waste. The problem is, I'm a VERY good baker. ;)

I've never been a baker but I'm taking private cake decorating classes and am required to make my own cakes and icings. I'm calling tonight the 2014 buttercream debacle. Gads what a mess I made!!!

We have neighbors who get a lot of our extra goodies -- better than keeping them around where we'll just eat them.

But think how much you learned in the process. A lot of times I learn more from "misteaks" than from successes. FWIW, chocolate chips were invented due to a mistake in the kitchen.

I bake a dessert once or twice a month, usually tied to a holiday or birthday. I'd love to bake more, but as others have said, it just isn't a good idea for my or DH's waistline and most in my circle don't eat sweets.

gingerbread, bread, my husband makes the best chocolate chip cookies I've ever had, breakfast dishes, a cake here and there, pies-I love to bake pies, mostly fruit pies.

I love to bake, I used to own a bakery. I bake nearly everyday, making homemade bread. I bake sweets probably four time during the week, I do spilt the sweets between us and our neighbor though. My DH would get frustrated with all the extra sweets before we had neighbors to share with, but baking is my Xanax, I get crazy if I can't be in the kitchen, whether it's baking or cooking meals.
