I could probably eat them cold straight out of the can if they were the last food on earth but as long as we still have choices, mine will definitely always be hot.

Canned baked beans are only acceptable in the case of nuclear fallout. Just about any other form of baked beans is vastly superior to what's in the can. I also want to agree with the others here who mentioned potato chips as accompaniment to baked beans.

If pressed for time, my mom used to doctor up the canned ones with brown sugar and bacon before putting them in the oven - it definitely improved them!
I like them cold (not room temperature). But I also like them hot. Really depends on the recipe. I have made some that have butter in them so definetly want those hot.
Cold out of the can or the fridge, no. I heat my can of Grandma Brown’s (only ones i’ll eat) in the microwave with extra brown sugar on top. If they cool down...still good.
