DD needs to provide several items for a bake sale fund raiser. They need to be packaged in single serving sizes and priced.

Have never done this before. Any advice on what sells well, how to package it and how to price it?

We make teddy bear & heart shaped rice crispie treats. I bought one of those mini cake molds that is bears and heart shaped muffin tins. These items have actually gotten a lot of use over the years

This is not a baked good, but we have had great luck selling "Caprese salad on a stick). We thread mozzarella balls, cherry tomatoes and basil leaves on a wooden skewer. There always seem to be people who want something a little healthier/low carb/gluten free and we have run out every time we have done this.

any kind of "bar" cookie or brownie would work well. You can bake up big pans of them, cut them up into servings and wrap them in saran wrap/cellophane wrap. We like double chocolate brownies, cheesecake brownies, 7 layer/magic cookie bars.

BIG cookies, you could do chocolate chunk, peanut butter, peanut butter chocolate chunk. wrap them in cellophane.

cupcakes or muffins of any kind, my fave is chocolate cupcake with a whipped peanut butter frosting. They're hard to package and hard to transport though. Muffins would be easier as they don't have frosting. Banana muffins, chocolate chunk, etc.

mini loaves of quick breads, banana bread, apple cinnamon struesel, could be wrapped in cellophane.

Cake pops are really big right now, they require a little more work and supplies though of course.

If you want to do something savory instead of sweet here's an idea, mini pizzas made in a cupcake tin: http://reallyfrompinterest.blogspot.com/2012/04/cupcake-mold-pizzas.html

I usually make something like chex mix, caramel popcorn, puppy chow or white trash mix and put it in sandwich size ziplock bags.

I think they usually sell them for 75cents or a dollar.

if you want to make cupcakes, put them in a clear plastic cup like this: http://pinterest.com/pin/61009769922119187/

This was what I was going to say! You beat me too it! I have never used the idea, but thought that it was genius!
I also think that brownie bites would be easy to make and you could package 3/4 to a bag.

we always make the rice krispie treats for bake sales too! they are so easy and you can use sugar crystals to match anything (school colors etc...). They are also easy to package, you dont have to wait long to put them in a ziploc or wrap with saran wrap.

We usually sell them for $1 and package them either 1 big bar or 2 smaller.

They are also usually the first to sell out!

Whoopie pies are very popular here in my neck of the woods - depending on the size, you can charge from $.75 to $1.50 easy. Yum, I love whoopie pies!

Around here, those large pretzel rods, dipped in chocolate and then topped with sprinkles or decorarations are very popular at craft fairs/bake sales. You can get a good size box at Dollar Tree (or other similar stores) for $1. You could either package them 1 or 2 to a bag or wrapper for $.50 or $1~

White chocolate popcorn. Melt 1 lb of white candy coating. Pop 1 bag of microwave popcorn. Pour candy coating over popcorn while it is still warm. Stir lightly to coat popcorn. For Christmas, I sprinkle green and red sugar over it to make it more festive. You could use school colors if it's for school. ;)

I think I just might make up a few of these to bring to my sister's for Thanksgiving. We have a 4-5 hr drive to her house and these would work perfectly.

The bakery by work does this also except they invert the cup so that the cupcake sets on the lid and the cup protects it. They only put one in each cup so the frosting doesn't get smushed. I just saw some cute printable thanksgiving labels on pinterest that could be attached to fancy it up a bit. Let me know if your interested in checking them out.

I'm familiar with chex mix, but what kind of snacks are "puppy chow" & "white trash mix"? Are they easy to make and popular with kids?

After seeing a photo on Facebook of "Cookie Monster Cupcakes", I made them yesterday.

I made jumbo chocolate cupcakes and frosted them blue. Sprinkled them with blue sugar crystals. Took Wilton white melts and melted the bottom of a dark chocolate chip and stuck it on the white melt (unmelted) for the eyes. Stuck a cookie in the "mouth". They turned out adorable. And were super easy. I could see these flying out at a bake sale at $3 apiece.

I make what we call Reese's Treats.

Use the Pillsbury Peanut Butter cookie dough
slice into 9 slices, then quarter each slice (total of 36 sections)

Place each piece into a spot in mini muffin tins (mini cupcake pans). Cook for the length of time specified on the dough wrapper (8-10 minutes)

Once you pull the pans out, place a minature (unwrapped) reese's cup into each one. I use the small ones that are individually wrapped not the unwrapped mini's they have out now.

Refrigerate for about 20 minutes and then remove from the pan.

We packaged them 2 to a bag and sold them for either 25 or 50 cents. They are so easy to make and quick.

My daughter's theater group used to sell baked goods during shows. Not sure what your venue is, but I used to donate cases of water instead. I DO like to bake, but you cannot beat the profit margin of spending $3 for a case of water for which they can charge $1 a PIECE. And who doesn't like a drink with their baked good??

These are adorable!!!!:thumbsup2
