Actually it's true. Really, the whole thing started way back in the Carter administration.

Seeing how your a huge BO supporter, where is BO going to get all this money from, seeing how is giving tax cuts to 98% of the country?
I will say my family is part of the 2% and my parents arn't very high above that 250 mark. They arn't going to work any harder because why should they? Anything that they make they are just going to give to some loser SOB is tried to cheat the system and now cant afford their house. How is that fair?

And also why does he keep contridicting himself? The banks gave out to many loans and ridiculous(sp) loans, but the banks need to gain trust back in people and keep giving out loans. So first he bashes them and than says what there doing is right?!?!

It's an awful stereotype that everyone in need of money is trying to cheat the system. There are A LOT of people out there right now who got laid off from their job because of the economy. A LOT of people who are just in bad times.

They don't deserve a little help?

Personally, I could care less about the tax break. It's only 13 dollars, and I'd rathar give it to people in need. But I guess the way I can do that is to 'spend' it on stuff. (That 13 dollars can mean the world to someone who is in need though.)

It is a bad stereotype. Unfortunately that stereotype is there because of the ones who do cheat the system. Everyone I know that is on government assistance could spend their money more wisely but instead one of them is getting a huge refund is going to blow it all on a vacation while they are still on food stamps.

I think people are angry that people are able to completely live off of the system while they themselves are working hard for their money.

There needs to be a better system in place to help those that truly need it and weed out the ones who are milking off everyone else.

Yea it is a broad generalization, but it's true and you know it. Yes the people who need should get it, but correct me if im wrong, but didnt tonight in BO speech say that laid off workers would get government benefits in their hard times?

I still want to know where all this money is going to come from.

Oh, I completely agree. I know many people who milk the system and live off of it, but I also know people who are actually embaressed to need to be on welfare. Because, just 1 year ago they had their life all together. College fund for the kids, plenty of money to live comfortably, and poof, it's all gone in a second.

I feel bad for those people.

My mom works for DHS (aka welfare office) & I also worked there for a couple of summers, so I know what it's all about.

Unfortunately, there are many many selfish, lazy people who use the system. But what never gets mentioned, are the people who are just in a slump right now. Hardworking individuals who get off welfare as soon as they can.

I missed most of the speech, but if he did say that, then good for him. & the money is coming out of thin air, adding to the trillions and trillions of dollars we're already in debt.

I feel bad for those people. People who worked their whole life to have a nice job, home, family and to be laid off...that puts them in a tight situation and those are the people who are probably using assistance as a last resort to help them stay afloat, which is what it is designed for. I'm sure they are deeply embarrassed.
