Bahamas Visa?

Hi there

I am new to this board and am posting this here, rather than the Cruise site, as this question really just applies to us Brits!

We are doing a 6 night WDW at the Yacht & Beach and then 4 nights on the Wonder, I know we don't need a Visa for the states, but does anyone know if we need any paperwork for entering the Bahamas when on the Cruise?

All I can seem to find is that we have a Visa Waiver agreement, but nothing on whether there is any paperwork to be completed.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks and thank you for all the great info I have picked up over the last few days!

:welcome: Kate.
You get all the paperwork you need in your documents just before you sail.
When are you going on the cruise? Our next one is 30th Mar for 4 nights.

Hi

We are going on the 14th Jan and sailing on the 20th. Never been to Disney, so not sure what to expect, do you know anything about the hotel?

We booked via Virgin for the hotel and flights, but did the cruise direct and saved a load of money, so I wasn't sure if we would get the relevant paperwork direct from DCL.

I can't believe how much there is to think about and plan for just 10 days away! My 'Disney notes' file is getting bigger and bigger!

No sorry never been there. I am sure you will love it. We have only ever stayed onsite once in a value hotel and did not enjoy as much as offsite. With it being you 1st time then onsite is probably the way to go then next time you could experiment maybe half on half off.
We use hotels to sleep, in there from approx 11pm-9am so we decided a few years ago we get just as much out of an offsite cheap hotel than luxury hotel. We have found places like the Courtyard by Marriott LBV just outside Disney for £25 give us everything we need and can afford to go 3 or 4 times a year, rather than once a year to a luxury hotel.
People can advice, you have probably read page after page on here but there is no wrong and no right way of doing Florida, you need to get out there and find whats best for you, some like onsite some off, Dining on or off, with car without, Villa or hotel, just Disney or other parks as well. So so many options.
I presume you have been reading the cruise forum. Did you find a Dismeet for your dates? I have started a thead for our cruise its a great way of getting to know people on your cruise. We had some great people on the last cruise we did, someone organised a Distag game and we all took local bits and bats to give to other disboarders, we got Disney pins, postcards allsorts.

If you want to know anything just post, someone will know the answer.
Sorry I go on sometimes.

Hi, Kate and welcome to the DIS. :goodvibes

Do you know whether you are at the Yacht Club or the Beach Club? They're actually 2 separate resorts, albeit they share the same piece of real estate and are linked together (you can walk through from one to the other). Either way, they are both fabulous and in a great position, especially for Epcot. You really won't have enough time to do everything on offer - have you made a list of your "must dos"? As you're so close, be sure not to miss IllumiNations and make sure you hang around afterwards and wait for the crowds to leave before taking a leisurely stroll back to your hotel.

You've chosen a great time to go in terms of crowd levels. We'll be flying home the day after you arrive. :)

Hi there,

Stayed at the Beach Club many times they are great, beautifully appointed rooms and the whole resort is fantastic. It even has a mini water park. Look at the pictures on the various sites. The place is better than anything I have stayed in within Europe.

The cruise line is great also. Enjoy.

Thanks for all the information.

I think we are booked in at the Beach Club. That sounds a bit strange doesn't it not really knowing, but it was all done in a bit of a rush and we wanted a nice hotel and there wasn't much left.

Wayneg, I appreciate what you are saying about an off site hotel and I did look at that, but we have a three year old and therefore will probably be in the hotel more than if we were on our own, so it makes it a little bit easier to be near everything and I believe we can walk through to Epcot from here, which will be useful if we have come back for a rest! We have a car as part of the package, so the free parking is useful at all the parks, although we will probably use their transport. The hotel looks good in the pictures!

UKDeb, I haven't made any lists yet! I keep surfing through the boards and copying and pasting stuff to remember, but there is so much of it! No doubt we will be influenced by having a toddler with us. The only things she will want to do is the Nemo stuff and see Mickey Mouse!

I personally have no idea what to expect and think perhaps we will just play it by ear.

I am not sure what ticket to get either, we will want to go to Universal as they have Cat in the Hat there, but not sure whether we will do any others. Anyone any advice on which ticket would be the best? We only need six days and probably the Hopper, is it better to buy here or there?

Kate

P.S UKDeb, I see you are from Gloucester, I was born in Stroud and my family are still there!

I went to college in Stroud and later met my husband whilst working there - it's got a lot to answer for :lmao: . My elder daughter has just started working there, too.
