Bahamas excursions Wish question

Doing a 3 night Wish trip in August. Just me and my 10yr old granddaughter. Interested in the Swim in Wonder at Atlantis where you snorkel with the dolphins. Also interested in seeing the Dig/Aquatic exhibits. Not so much in the Waterpark, as most slides will be a little too extreme for my granddaughter , or so grandma thinks LOL. I was thinking of we could do the lazy river, then saw how UNlazy it was. Maybe for myself ok, but not while trying to keep track of a child, not relaxing for me. Not interested in hitting the beach, since we will be at Castaway Cay the next day.

So, anyway any recent experiences with that excursion or Atlantis in general?

For me, the perfect day would be to get up eat light breakfast, and be off the ship as early as possible. Then have the Dolphin encounter sometime before lunch. (Explore the Aquarium/marine exhibits, either before and/or after depending on time of experience). Have lunch, then head back to the ship to have some fun on board since we don't have a long cruise, maybe character meet, AquaMouse, trivia etc.
Clean up. We have first dining time, so dinner then show.

Does that sound like a reasonable expectation? Can you request a time for excursion? I noticed you have to wear a wetsuit for the Dolphin thing, something I've never done. My swimsuit has an attached short skirt, would that work under, or do you need something like swimshorts? I'm also a women's 18, so hopefully they have a larger sizes.

I did splurge on concierge, so can request early, but I am a total novice with cruise stuff, first one for me ever.

If you are booking the excursion through Disney, you will not have any control over the time of it. When you go to make the booking, it will show you the available times. Disney schedule may or may not allow you to follow the plan you have of returning to the ship in the early afternoon. You might look at the Atlantis homepage and consider booking on your own, as that may give you more flexibility in the schedule. You would then be responsible for getting yourself to and from Atlantis, but that is not difficult to do as taxis are readily available in Nassau.

since you are traveling in August, wetsuits might not be required. Some places require them for safety, some have them there, because the water is chilly, and they keep you warm. If the wetsuit is required, they will have a variety of sizes available. It’s a tourist destination, and they know that people come in a variety of sizes, so the wetsuits do too.

The previous poster answered pretty much everything. I'll echo that Atlantis is easy to do on your own.

Just wanted to add you won't have any issues with wet suit size or getting your skirt to fit inside the wetsuit.

Thanks! We will just go with the flow. I'm hesitant not to book thru DCL, simply bc I'm new at all this. But I'll think about it

Does the excursion include the waterpark and aquarium? Some don’t even include the beach, just the encounter.

The one I saw online included it, but it was for previous DCL cruises in the area, not Wish. It's too early for me to see what's available for my cruise, so I was just speculating based on that.
