Can anyone tell us anything about the Bahama Bay resort ?

It does not appear very often in the brochures although I see that it is in the Virgin 2005.

Is it finished or are we likely to be staying on a building site ?

Thanks:confused:

Bahama Bay is a fairly new resort which i beleive is still being finished in some areas. It is convenient for the parks and the 1-4 so giving you acccess to the coasts easily. There is a restaurant that is due to open on August 1st and is run by an english couple who you may have seen in the tv series last year about resort quest the vacation homes place in florida. Val and ?

It is about 1.5 miles south of the junction of the 192 /27 you turn right off 27 into Florence Villa Grove Road and it is at the bottom.
Nearby there is a small strip type mall with a bar/grill called the 19th hole -run by brits and opposite there is a delicious cake /sandwich bar called Grand Baguette wel worth a visit .

Thanks Jan

I think we will go ahead and book.. I've now viewed a few websites which all show Bahama Bay to look great..

We stayed at Highlands Reserve last time so I think we know roughly where it is.

Is it near the Drive Thru bank ?

Thanks

Hello JBG 69,

Thanks for the website link. I noted that there are availablities and unreleased suites in Phase 2. Any idea as the best sections to rent? Which are nearer to the pool etc. Please do post with all you know.:)

ok I've been on the internet nearly all afternoon and found loads of positives and very few negatives.

Kuoni (tour operator) rate the resort very highly and one internet link site had two seperate familys who have already booked for next year.

All in all I'm now really looking forward to going.. We are there for one week and then Animal Kingdom Lodge for the second.

Last year we stayed down the road from Bahama Bay at the Highlands Reserve. We found the location ideal so no surprises in store there.

I'm so excited :wave2:

if you head south on the 27 towards HR you will turn left into Florence Villa Grove Road just on the brow of a hill opposite where they are building Legacy Park .Just continue straight down and it is at the bottom for some reason it as yet has no sign from the 27 .I love the convenience of the situation too.

I have booked Bahama Bay for late September this year. There are 6 of us going, so we booked the 3 bed apartments. I did a decent amount of research before we booked & the best website i found is www.tripadvisor.com If you scroll through the various options you can find the hotel. Most reviews are pretty good. The main problem appears to be the pool being cold, but i phoned them & they said that they are all heated. Thats actually quite important to DW & I with 2xDS aged 3 & 2. I will let you know more in October when we are back.

We too have been on the site and its very good..

We are off on at the end of August so will let you know

We've booked a week at the Bahama Bay and a Week at AKL
