Bah! fed up with BCV want to go to VWL!

Got 1bed BCV (my home resort) booked for 26th nov to 7th dec for the 4th year running. Now I know that BCV is great and all that, but I want to try VWL.

I waitlisted for it last year and never got one day (but I did try only 3 months out) so today I phone at 9.02 and guess what. No rooms at VWL! Waitlisted again.

Am I destined never to sample the delights of VWL?

So frustrated

Don't despair! Something may still come through on the waitlist for at least part of your trip, since you've tried this far out. Pixie dust to you!

Maybe someone would be willing to "trade reservations" with you over on the rent/trade board? I'm sure there must be some frustrated VWL owner somewhere who is just dying to stay at BCV!

I was trying to do just that, except in reverse. I have VWL and am trying to get 2 more nights at BCV (sorry, wrong week). I tried to post for a trade but it was bumped because it's outside of the 6 month window for trade postings. Doc kindly said I could repost, which I may do. It's tough, the vwl may want out but can't get into something else and someone else may want out but no one can start it without a guarantee of something to move to. It's a perfect scenario for a trade, but we have to wait for inside of 6 months on these boards.

I'm thinking of trying again inside the window.....we did our beloved VWL last year for the holidays but this year my daughter wants Stormalong Bay and to walk to Epcot....

That's the reason we bought our 100 point contract at VWL. We can get Thanksgiving every other year.

Oh you can definitely have a chance to stay there, but as Mikesmom pointed out, not at 7 months during that time frame.

I am so sorry to hear that you are not able to get a ressie at WLV. I think I may be one of the reasons you are having trouble. I have been calling everyday for the last 3 days for a 1 br. So far I have Nov. 24th-26th. I hope your waitlist comes through. for all of us trying to get in for the decorations

You do realize you can experience the decorations without staying there, don't you? We visit VWL and WL EVERY trip, and we never stay there.

I want to be the bearer of hope...last year I booked 12/ 23-29th..... 23-26@BWV-BW View and VWL-26-29th. My home resort was SSR and I called day by day at the 7month mark...the BWV came though first...and a while later VWL came through...don't give up hope(I was looking for a stuido).

Thanks for all the kind words. Here hoping I can at least get the 1st 4 days together at vwl via waitlist. So much hope to stay there just the once. With all the new members at the bigger resorts coming into the party, VWL is going to get harder and harder to sample in the future.

Heck, I book day by day for the first part of December at the 11 month window! That's exactly why we own at 3 different resorts, I never want to have to depend on the 7 month window to get the room(s) I want.

Sorry you're having trouble. Maybe the waitlist will come through. I think the suggestion to try a different time of year though is a good one. I have no trouble booking VWL for spring even inside the 7 month window when my plans get screwed up and I have to change vacation dates. (Spring is a lot harder for me to predict than December for my job.)

My wife is studying for accountacy exams which are at the end of may and the end of november, with the courses running january to may and sept to nov. Thus we can only jun to aug, which is both insanely expensive for air flights (ie 4 times the price of november) and far too hot for us fair skinned scots, or the end nov/dec. Thus we always go late november. Have managed to find space everywhere in the dvc system at our times except for VWL. Just want to go there this year. Not for the whole time, just for the first 4 days. We like to move around the resorts on or vacations. Just get to sample all the different resort ambiences that way.

I really wish the Rent-Trade board parameters would be different for the scenario of DVC members wishing to trade with another member.

I also posted my wish last year (we own at VWL and wanted to trade with a BCV member) and it was removed because it was too early.

Please BoardGods, change the max time parameter for this transaction to 11 months out!!!
If not, is there a place where we could do this type of trade?

I did call today and got WLV 1 br for the 27th. I will be calling 2 more times to try and get what I need. I am happy I was able to get it. We are having a Magical Gathering and everyone else is staying at WL. It will just make it a more magical trip if we can all be together.

I got through at 1:15 ET. waitlisted......... I did call bang on 1pm but waited for 15 minutes for the CM to answer the callers who got in before me. Apparently there were 3 available, but I got beat out in the call queue. Again! But I position 1 on the waitlist for both 26th & 27th November, heres hoping
