I'm starting to think about packing (ok, not going until Feb., but it's my first time and I'm excited!!) and the one thing I can't figure out is how to carry some small things with me in the parks (mainly a digital camera, water, and money...).

I found little shoulder travel bags at Target (they are shaped like tear drops - anyone who knows what LL Beans Healthy Back bag looks like? That's what they look like). It's small and can be worn across my chest or over my shoulder.

The question is -what do I do with it while I'm on the rides? Can it come on with me?

We carry a mid day sized camelpac on all the rides at Disney with no problem at all.

Most of the time we put it at our feet and loop it trough one of our legs.

Great! Thanks, now I can continue my pre-packing! (DH thinks it's hysterical...)

That bag sounds perfect. I'll loop my bag around my feet, too, and a lot of the rides have mesh pockets for your stuff.
Nothing wrong with packing early -- we're going in April and I'm chomping at the bit to get the suitcases and the summer clothes out!

Its ok to start thinking about packing! Im going in Feb too and its trip #10 for us. We have a spare room that doesnt see a lot of traffic and the luggage is out and we are starting to put things in there. Of course I will probably re-pack it four times in the next 40 days :)
Your bag sounds great. We use a Eddie Bauer sling bag that fits a bottle of water, sunblock camera and a change purse. It has a great zippered area in the front perfect to hold our resort id, cc and our fast passes.
Of course this year we have DS so we will also have a diaper bag too...

I have a bag like that and it's my favorite!! I take it everywhere with me. It puts no strain on my shoulders and I ususally forget it's there. I've been to Disney with it and had no problems :)

Disney is the BEST park in terms of bags on rides. They understand that people have them and allow them (in a reasonable size) on most rides. This is very different compared to other theme/amusement parks that are quite militant about bags on rides.

The only ride we ever would need a locker for would be Kali River Rapids, but only because of the water that would drench them!

Yep, you can take it on rides. If you do use the mesh pockets on rides don't forget to take it out!!

We always take a small backpack and just put it in the little storage compartment w/ the plastic velcro top that is in the middle of the rafts, that keeps it pretty dry.

Thanks, SoonerGirl, we will have to try that next time (we were there in December, but a bit too cool to go on Kali).

I have that bag!!!! I LOVE that bag! Actually, my wife has one in pink and mine is red. It works great and will neatly fit into the little pouches available on most rides. On things like Rock 'n Roller Coaster, just be sure to loop it onto your wrist.

I carried a cooler backpack on almost all rides in Disney.

We carry a small trashbag just for the wet rides. for Kali we just open the storage area put in the trash bag and everything goes into that.Sometimes the seals do let water in that area so 1 bag takes care of everything.

I carry those nylon bags that pull shut with two strings. They are tiny backpacks that fold up really tiny when nothing is in them so you can pack it and just put your stuff in it once your in florida. I just put my camera and cellphone and things in ziploc bags within that pack so they dont get wet. I carry that bag on all the rides. I just pull the strings tight and wrap them around my arm so nothing comes ou. Also a lot of the rides have mesh bags to put your stuff into. I know that the safari, and dinosaur do in ak.

I'm with the majority, we take our fanny packs and shoulder bags on the rides with us. Our digicam fits in our fanny packs so that's not a problem and we put other bags on the side or sometimes sit on them depending on what's inside. We really don't take too much in with us so it's never a problem to take our bags on with us. Just remember to put your stuff inside of a platic bag first and then put into your carry bag.
