Bags for Liquids

I rarely fly but will be in a couple weeks: what's the point of using ziplocks? Are you supposed to put all your carry-on liquids into a separate 8×7" little bag? Or do people use them just to speed up with security?

You must pack any liquids into a separate clear bag and pull it out at security. Each person is allowed 1 bag that must be less then 1 litre in volume and any liquid must be in containers that hold less then 100ml. It has been this way now for years.

You also need to do things like pull out certain electronics at security, take off shoes etc. You should review current TSA procedures so you are prepared

I have been using the standup medium ziploc freezer bags. It adds the depth to put more things inside. Just used it on July 20 with no issue. If I can’t close it, I will put it inside another bigger bag. It went through like that once with no issue as well as long as everything stays in that medium size bag.

We've been using these for years and have never had an issue (knock on wood). I don't worry about them splitting like I would a Ziploc bag, and they're quite spacious.

Is the bag see-through? I've never been to the Container Store and just noticed it's in the US.

The fabric is a bit cloudy, not completely clear, but you can still see through it. I hope that makes sense.

You should be able to find Medium stand-up Ziploc or generic bags at Dollarama or Walmart.

Wanted to report that we used the stand-up bags and had no issues with TSA. The caveat is that we have NEXUS and went through TSA precheck, so didn't have to take anything out of the bags.
