Bag or no bag?

We are taking our dd7 and dd2 (turning 3 a few days after we return from our trip) to Disney for Thanksgiving. We are very excited to go! Even though we will be there for 4 days we will only be going to a park 1 of those days. I was considering not lugging around a tote or backpack this year. Every time we go I fill a bag with what I think we need, and never use it! I figure if I can't fit it into my hip pouch I don't need it. What do you think?

I think you would be fine without the backpack. I agree that I pack things that I think we will need but then we don't use most of it. I will still be taking our messenger bag since DD is in diapers.

Will you have a stroller with you? When dd was in a stroller, I would put things in the backpack that I could leave in the bottom of the stroller (change of clothes, diapers, wet washcloth for when it got too hot, juice boxes and snacks). I could leave it in the stroller and not worry about anyone taking anything. I carried a small pack with money/tix, etc.

I say go for it. People take waaaaay too much stuff to the park (especially some of the people I read on here!) I usually end up with a small purse 'causes I don't have any shorts with a lot of pockets. but if I get some I won't be bringing anything either. But I don't take anything extra in my purse than what would fit in pockets.

I dont' know that i will ever be able to part with my bag. Luckily my dh doesn't mind having a backpack on. I am so afraid of needing something even though i never really end up needing it.

I'm always in awe of people who can go to the parks w/o a bag! I have my Baggallini with me at all times. DH carries a backpack with snacks, first aid kit, change of clothes for DD, etc that stays in the stroller most of the day.

With kids that young, I figure that you'll need a change of clothes for them (I refuse to let DD walk around in dirty clothes if she spills something...I have issues...I know!!! But those pics last forever ;)). Is your 2 year old potty trained? If not, you'll also need diapering supplies. What about a camera?

I don't have any children, but always carry a bag, well, not bag necessarily but a purse. It doesn't bother me to carry it since I carry one everywhere else I go. I bought one that has a side pocket that fits a bottle of water perfectly. Also, if we buy souvenirs or anything I can toss them in my purse (that zips up of course). Also, none of the rides are crazy enough that you can't take it with you, I just put my leg through it and let it hang from my thigh. It seems to work great! And my husband comments every time he grabs the water. "This is the perfect Disney purse ever!"... however, he isnt the one carrying it...

I would love to be able to go without it... but just cant bring myself to do it. I think Id feel lost... :rotfl:

Thank you all for your thoughts! I think I am gonna it without! DD is potty trained so I wont have to worry about that. We will be bringing a stroller, but it is just an umbrella stroller and it doesnt have any kind of storage on it.
