The adults in our group are wearing Fanny Packs, but I was wondering what my DD6 should have. I haven't been able to find a Fanny Pack in her size yet. What, if anything, do other parents let their kids carry in the park? She wants to carry something!

My kids never carried anything...just free to enjoy :cool1:

Now as teens, they will help me carry my backpack with our cameras and essentials.

My daughters have always carried their own autograph books, pen, gum, sunglasses. Now they carry all that plus rain poncho, camera, etc.

They started out with small fanny packs(bought online), moved to small backpacks and now use messenger bags. They seem to like the messenger bags the best. They had to take the fanny pack off for some rides and it was a pain. Messenger bag they just slide around to fit wherever is more comfortable on that particular ride.

They are now 10 and 8.

I just took my DD for her 7th birthday. I forgot to bring my fanny pack so I purchased a Mickey one in the Pop gift shop. It was way too big even at the smallest size for her (she's a size 7 slim) so I just tied a knot in the strap and that didn't seem to bother her at all. She carried her sunglasses, press penny book, pennies and quarters for pressing and her room key. She thought her room key was the coolest thing of all. The pack did have a small pocket in the back that was perfect for her room key.

I ordered my DD5 (very near 6) one of these. It has come in and looks great. She's not carrying much, but I wanted her to have something for a few things.

Minnie Fanny Pack

There seem to be plenty in stock and a realiable seller.

Hope this helps.

My DD6 (7 on next trip) hasn't carried anything yet. I carry it all. We still take our stroller for carrying items and for those times when she's tired. She still fits in the stroller, she's 43" and 42#. I'm not looking forward to the time when she's too big for the stroller :confused3 since I'll have to carry everything and so far I've gotten by without a backpack. (I'm just not a backpack person!)

DD8 carries a small pooh bear backpack, about 10 inches tall and clear plastic. It's big enough to carry the basics. She's had it since she was 4, and there are others that are small with characters on them, they had a few at payless the other day. She had no problems with it.

I was lucky enough to find small fanny packs for the kids when they were younger. Now my DD carrys a back sack and DS wants to carry his as well this year instead of his fanny pack. If my kids want something in the parks they must carry it in themselves. I'm not a pack mule! LOL

There is a lady on Ebay that makes purses, fanny packs and back packs from recycled Juice Pouches. The name of her Ebay store is something like juicy jammers. She also takes special orders. I myself have a hobo purse and I get compliments left and right....your DD will love it!
