bag check-point ???

We have usually had fanny packs and then waited in those long check-your-bag lines in each of the parks. This trip I am planning on no fanny packs and having just my 35mm camera and it's carrying case on me. Will I still have to go thru the lines or can I just enter?

You will have to go through the checkpoint. A camera case still counts as a bag. Why don't you try going without the case -- carry just the camera on its strap.

I was going to just stick my passes and chap-stick/tissues in the case. It hangs around my neck and is only about 3"x5" so I was hoping it didn't need to be checked. If it has to be checked I might as well use a fanny pack.

It will be checked, but it will go quicker than searching through a fannypack.

If you carry a fannypack, will your camera fit in it or do you have to carry it separately? Also, when we have taken a camera case inside another bag, the bag is checked and the camera case has to be removed and checked as well.

My camera usually goes inside the fanny pack. I'm one of those anal people who have the fanny pack off the waist and all the compartments unzipped and open by the time I get to the check-point!!! And there isn't much in there, so it's only a quick look-see. Looks like I'll just use the fanny pack, but I'll be the only one in the family. The rest can get thru quickly!!

Just put your camera and chapstick in your pocket (maybe wear cargo pocket shorts/pants) and then wear a lanyard w/a card holder for your room key/credit card/ticket. Then you don't have to go through the back check.
