BAD VIBE about AofA

Just called AofA and really wasn't happy with the vibe (attitude) I got there. Only wanted to add a room request since we did not book through Disney and was treated very rudely on the phone. Hope this will not be the case when we arrive Wednesday.

Having stayed many times on-site I already knew it would only be a "request" but still found her attitude to be nothing but RUDE!

You most likely weren't speaking directly with someone from the AoA resort. It is my understanding most calls go to a centralized call location. I'm sorry the person you spoke with was rude. I just wanted to share with you I've stayed at AoA three times and the Cast Members there have been very, very nice, accommodating, knowledgable.
We've gotten mostly all our room requests honored too. They try their best with that! I hope you get your room request and have a wonderful stay!

You were not actually speaking to someone at AoA. Even though there are specific numbers for resorts, when those numbers are called, you are routed to a call center and are not speaking to the resort directly. They answer the phone as if they are there at the resort, but it's a call center. Also, if you didn't book with Disney directly, they would not be able to add any requests as the agency/person you booked with "owns" your reservation and would be the one to have to call to do that. I'm sorry the CM was rude. Hope you have a great trip :wizard:.

I don't think you were speaking to a AoA CM, either. Did you stay on the line for the survey at the end of your call?

1. Sometimes a phone call can come off wrong and a tone taken the wrong way;
2. As I have learned from previous experience at WDW, not all CMs should really be working at WDW and the likelihood of running into a rude one is low, but it can happen. They aren't going to be magical 100% of the time - inhuman;
3. I hope for you that this will not be a reflection of your soon-to-be stay at AoA! :wizard:

Many of the people who work at the call centers have never even been to WDW! I am sure you did not speak with someone behind the desk at AOA. The bad vibe was NOT from the CMs at that resort.

Glad to hear it wasn't someone there. I was really excited about staying here for the first time. We have stayed at all the other Values except Sports and have never had this experience before. It just wasn't the kind of attitude I am use to receiving from Disney.

They always send a survey after we visit and this time I will have to note this incident on it. We spend ALOT of $$ yearly at Disney and expect better from them.

Not going to let this spoil our anniversary trip though!

Good luck, hopefully you will encounter only happy, kind CM's at AoA.

I wouldn't worry! As PPs said, you probably weren't talking to someone at AoA.

I just came back from AoA a few weeks ago and can assure you that CMs there were more than friendly and accommodating!

as long as you don't have to deal with Kim at AoA, you should be fine. she was horrendous!!

You are so VERY wrong. It's hard to never go to wdw when the call center is in celebrations fl, is about a 20 min drive, you'd be hard to find anyone in that office that has NEVER been.

To the OP: sorry they were rude but your request needs to go through who ever, agent,Travelocity orbits, what ever, they " own" the rooms any complaints also go through said place of purchase.

Actually Disney has several call centers all over the country. A couple are in Florida and there's one in Texas and another in Indy, I believe.

Don't let it bother you. I have had plenty of excellent and also some rude customer service throughout Walt Disney World, but human error will always make way for that.

No longer in tx and Indy. Just Florida 3 and CA 1. The res team in Ca takes the overflow calls when wdw gets to busy, the team of 14 in that office take the cals. But toes that come in to the Drtsc in anaheim are 98%Tavel agents So the likely hood it was a florida person is still very high. Now if you are dining reservations that's totally separate and no longer Handled by Disney.
