Bad Shoes and Bad Clothes

We love you Shelly. You post whatever you want. Like you said, we do know you and we all know what your intention was. Me and Cocowum point out bad Disney shoes every time we are there. Don't sweat a post from someone that doesn't know you. I'm sure they're just trying to help. Thanks for the pics, they're hilarious. :thumbsup2

Thanks Paul!!! :)

Ohhhh! I love this game!

Who tours EPCOT in these?
DSCN0906.jpg

Looks to me like a lady with a nice pair of legs is who tours Epcot in those. Probably not the smartest thing to wear in Epcot but they sure work on her IMHO. :)

I guarantee I will be one of those people who you look at and say, wow, he could he have dressed nicer. My wife is always griping at me about it. Lottsa' cotton and lottsa' pockets is my clothing of choice. Old Tshirts and Old shorts are great.

I never wear plaid though. I am also one of those people that have about 3 of the exact same type /color of shorts. Without exaggeration have 5 grey Polo T-shirts. Why you ask? Well they are comfortable and I like grey.

I am the bum in the family.

My wife and daughter are a different story. My wife and gymboree have a financial relationship (i.e. she spends of our finances at gymboree). My wife wont let my daughter out of the house unless she if perfectly matched and dressed.

I'm not trying to make out that you're mean, its just that for those with low self confidence anyway, the idea that I am being judged at the happiest place on earth kinda makes me feel sad.

I love going to Disney cause I don't have to dress up or worry what I wear. I already get judged by my peers on my looks (I don't do the 'teenager' dress style) and I hate the idea that i need to feel self concious on holiday too.

My version of this game is to try and find something good/ nice about the person or their looks rather than focus on the negative. Yes they may match stripes and plaid, but I wish my hair had that much bounce!

I think if the world focused on the positive rather than the negative, the world would be a much better place.

Sorry that's my penny worth!

I actually like to POSE for these pictures!

Me and my big ugly shoes, and my travel vest, and my dozen lanyards with 100 pins.

I'm certainly not one to pick out plaids/stripes together...HOWEVER, the heels make me laugh, because they look so painful, and showing too much skin (whether beautiful or less-than) makes me cringe.

I was leaving MK last month (I think it was MK) and noticed a well-dressed young lady wearing 3 inch spike heels. Now, my feet hurt after a day at WDW even when I wear my cushy hiking boots. I can't imagine spike heels.

Now, since no thread should go this long without a hijack, here is a different kind of bad (courtesy of cakewrecks.com) (click link if photo doesn't show):

I actually saw someone a few years ago who was wearing shorts so short that you could clearly see her cheeks! And I don't mean the ones on her face either...:rotfl:

But thankfully, I took no picture...
i saw a tween wearing some of those at the mall last night---(it was 70 here)----scary! but i used to dress crazy too, so I can't really talk.

I can say i have always chosen sensible shoes for the parks.......I don't get the high heels......sure they look good, but I don't get how they walk all day long- truly impressive as someone else said.

I once saw a lady wearing white see through spandex leggings with a black thong under that everyone could see!

This post is worthless without pics!!!! ;) :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I love this website! I've been considering posting pix of the cakes I've made for my kids, (to complement the whole cake v. pie discussion) but I'm afraid someone here will get carried away and send the pix to this lady (who will then mock me endlessly).

I am a person who wears capri's with crocs and socks. Feel free to post my pic anytime. It drives my DS nuts. Not like I would wear it to work or locally, but I want to wear capris, my crocs are comfy, and my socks keep my feet dry. I enjoy people watching, and being watched.

I would love to see your cakes - I wish I had a picture of one I made for Easter years ago - it was a bunny head. The cake itself was 2 carrot cake bundt cakes, placed one on top of the other to form a ball (the head). The center was filled in with pineapple pie filling, the ears were frosted twinkies, the mouth and eyes were drawn on with frosting, and the nose - aah, the nose... it was a Vicks cough drop.

The cake had 2 issues - 1) the runny nose: the Vicks cough drop mixed with the frosting and somehow started to melt... thus, my bunny had a runny, bloody nose. and 2) when they tried to cut the cake, the frosting, on the top covering the bundt cake hole, started to give way - at first it just bulged, but it eventually cracked, oozing pineapple down the side of the bunny's head. Looked like brains.

I suppose it's better there are no pictures - they would look like crime scene photos! But it really made me with at the time that I had used cherry pie filling! :lmao:

It sounded delicious until the Vicks cough drop!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

OMG, I've just spent the last hour with TEARS streaming down my face from laughing so hard!

This seems perfectly reasonable to me!! :)
I won't even tell you how much Gymboree my kids collectively own. :rolleyes1

Cakewrecks is my favorite blog spot when I need a good laugh. Love it! I really need to get one of their save the apostrophes t-shirts since I am also a grammar nut.

It bothers me to include kids in the what not to wear. When I see a kid like the stripey/plaid one I think wow what cool parents. Life is too short to not let your kids wear what they pick out. By 5th grade they will be wanting the latest labels and be bound by fashion rules. Childhood is so brief these days. Let them live the carefree life while it lasts! I was at Costco and saw a 5yo boy in a superman costume and a batman mask shopping with his mom. Very cool mom IMO.

Mmmmm...cake. I love the cake wreck blog and have been seriously tempted to submit some of my own disasters to it! :)

Now, as far as the clothing choices at WDW goes..well, I'm no fashionista, but the phrase "a woman wearing comfortable shoes" certainly fits for me, in more ways than one! ;)

I too wear socks with capris and quickly ran through all the pages of this thread to see if my pic was there! :scared1: Thankfully not, but the other pics are entertaining! Surprisingly, I saw many women wearing heels and felt sorry for them, looking beautiful often comes at a great price... :faint:

I dont' wear capri's (cause I am a dude) but I wear socks with crocs.

Why not?

I found this post very funny as I did tiggerbell's trip report with who dressed grandpa. Very funny stuff there. Hopefully I wont show up with my crocs with socks. LOL. Now that cake sight is seriously hilarious.

They make socks to go with crocs. Why not, indeed?

Crocs are already butt-ugly. There's no real way to make them uglier. Go for the ugly, I say. Make it a statement. The heck with whoever is looking.

Can you tell I'm still in rebellion against my mother, whose favorite line is "You look ridiculous!"? Embrace the ridiculous, say I!
