Jaime (tiggerbell) started a game where she picked out women who wear bad shoes and men who choose the "What would Grandpa wear?"!!

Here's some pics from NYE at the MK!!!

Bad Shoes:

She's wearing capris with sandals and socks. Was a little weird for me!

Bad Clothes: "The Grandpa Outfits"

This didn't look too bad from a distance but when I got closer I realized he was wearing a green plaid not a blue plaid!

It looks like a solid color shirt but it actually had a small checkboard pattern that did not match the shorts at all!!

She matched but it was sure an interesting choice!!!

I don't know what it was but plaid must be the new "in" thing. I saw plaid shorts and pants on both men and women everywhere!!!. I just didn't get it!!! :confused3

There were many more that I saw but these were just a few of the ones I could get pics of.

I wish the pics were a little bigger. I love funny stuff like that. The high heels always crack me up.

I think this is mean spirited and a bit Junior High-ish...especially since some of the people's faces are pretty much visible.

Plaid (and patchwork) is not the new thing, it's been hot for several years around here. Not Grandpa like at all.

Many people on a WDW vacation go for shoe comfort... the socks and Keens shown with the capris, I say go for it!

The high heels... don't get it, but it is an impressive level of pain tolerance!

.

I actually saw someone a few years ago who was wearing shorts so short that you could clearly see her cheeks! And I don't mean the ones on her face either...:rotfl:

But thankfully, I took no picture...

Okay this is like the best thread ever. I only wish I took pics of people on my November trip.......I saw dozens of women in high heel shoes, mini skirts, fancy dresses. It was hysterical!!!

In my younger years i would certainly been on this thread. I don't dress up to go to Disney and since I don't really wear shorts at home (except for maybe the 3 days its hot enough in August!) I don't have much choice!

I also don't like the shorts pushed on girls my age (e.g. very short!) I don't have a terrible figure but i hate my legs and shorts are my nightmare!

So i feel kinda sorry for these people (except those in high heals, are you crazy women?!?) cause they aren't going to Disney to be judged, just have a good time!

Also Plaid (or as we call it tartan) is a MAJOR fashion trend in the UK at the moment, so they might just have some European chic! ;)

I agree that this is very mean-spirited and childish.

I love the carefree "dance like nobody is watching" aspect of going to Disney. It actually makes me sad to think there are people taking pictures of strangers with the intent to mock them online.

I'm surprised this thread is even allowed.

One of my favorite games to play at WDW is the "Looking at the silly shoe choices that women make" game. ;) I've seen more pairs of super high heels or really flat flip-flops! It makes my feet hurt just to see them! :confused3

bad shoe.com is dedicted to this topic

It's the same as watching what not to wear or any other fashion flub shows/mag articles

Couple of clarifications (seeing as I introduced Shelly to these games) - Bad Shoe and Who Dressed Grandpa are just games to play when people watching... we aren't judging, we're just amused.

And "plaid" isn't the point of the pictures, it's when plaid is mixed with floral or stripes that it makes you look twice...

Like this... :goodvibes

I don't think this thread is mean spririted or childish. Faces/names aren't being revealed. Heck, even the podcast team talks about things that shouldn't be worn in the park (wife beaters/A frame undershirts, etc). This is a classic example that if you don't like the thread, don't read. I myself am always fascinated by the shoe choices people make to tour the parks in.

THank you Jaime!!!

I have been on these boards for over a year and was lurking a while before that. I have stayed on these boards - this board in particular because it has been very welcoming, very friendly, and very supportive until now. This is the first time I have ever been personally attacked for something I have posted. I was going to stay quiet but I feel I can't stay quiet any longer.

First of all, I am NOT a mean spirited person - far from it. Those who know me will tell you that I don't have a mean bone in my body. I actually try to go out of my way to do things for people especially my family and friends. I was made fun of quite a bit growing up so I know how it feels. That was not my intention at all!!!!!

I only mentioned the plaid because plaid is very hard to match. Anything other than a solid color doesn't match. I spent 12 years in private schools wearing a uniform - 7 of those years I wore a blue plaid jumper or skirt. To this day, I don't like to wear plaid!!! If other people want to wear plaid, they can. I don't care. This was just the first time that I noticed a lot of people wearing plaid - both men and women.

These few pictures I posted are the only pictures I took. I saw many, many more! I especially saw a lot of children wearing mix matching clothes but I didn't take any pictures of them because that would have been "mean-spirited." No offense Jaime! To me, the adults were fair game. I did go back and black and cropped out faces as I agree that I shouldn't have posted those with faces shown.

Again, my attention was to not judge or criticize but that's what I got in return.

I hope this helps clear things up.

We love you Shelly. You post whatever you want. Like you said, we do know you and we all know what your intention was. Me and Cocowum point out bad Disney shoes every time we are there. Don't sweat a post from someone that doesn't know you. I'm sure they're just trying to help. Thanks for the pics, they're hilarious. :thumbsup2
