So we are just back from our 8-22 -8 29 WDW stay and we had the free dining. Let me say that my family of 4 (with two little boys ages 5&2) ate like Kings and I have the extra 10 punds to prove it..(I never say no to Key lime Pie)
That being said, I did notice that the majority of the servers we had at out table service meals were not giving us the service I had come to rely on. San Angels Inn, Whispering Canyon, Maya Grill, 50's Prime Time etc..the servers just weren't giving us the attention I knew we should have had (as a former server myself..I know the routine). I kept thinking, if it had been one or two experiences I would have blamed the server but this was practically every one with the exception of the Hoop De Doo.. and she was bloody brilliant!!! Brought my son's Mac and cheese, grapes, etc to help keep him happy and occupied (at 2 1/2 the show was a little over him). I think that the free dining is just overwhelming the restrnts. I know from experience that when your section is full and you know that there are a ton of people behind them..things get frantic and that is how I felt all week. I know that I overheard a CM telling the woman in front of me that since the free dining, there was no table service openings anywhere for that day in any of the parks and that the ones at the resorts were at a premium. I was in line to see about us changing our Whipering Canyon resies to the Goofy Liberty Dinner and she said the same thing to me and said that we should hold on to our WCC ressies for dear life.
Did anyone else have the same experience? Get the same feeling? WOrd of advice to all those going down, If you don't have reservations..get em..fast...
